You Can Help 1000 But You Can’t Carry 3
I wanted to do a very quick blog post to give you a
lesson how to be a better sponsor, how to be a better leader. And it might
actually not be what you expect to hear. So the title of this is you can
help 1000 but you can't carry free.
And you see it's a big lesson. It's a big
lesson for leadership. It's a big lesson for being a great sponsor, because a
lot of people think that in network marketing, in order for you to be a great
sponsor, you just have to babysit people, you just have to wipe everybody's
asses and you have to lead people by the hold them by the hand all the time but actually, that's not real leadership. That's actually not being a
good leader.
That's not a great leadership because you can do
that for one person. You can babysit them, you can have them connected to you
with umbilical cord, you can hold them by the hand and do everything for them,
so they want to place an order you do it for them, they want to recruit
somebody, you do it for them, whatever. You can do it with one person, you can
do it with two people, you may be able to do it with three people, but you
can't be do that with thousands of people. What if your team grows to 100 People?
Can you place orders 400 people? Can you recruit everybody for 100 people? Can
you do everything for 100 people? No way.
Which means if you're doing
everything for your team, if you holding them by the hand, if you babysitting
them, then you are preventing your team from growing. You're preventing your
team from growing because what you teaching them is not to grow, you teaching
them not to learn, you teaching them not to become leaders like you are, you
just teaching them to be a sheep, who just follows behind you who just follows
behind you, and basically doesn't do anything really, you understand what I’m saying.
So that's why the title of this blog post is you can help 1000 if you become a
real leader, if you teach people how to do things by themselves, the you can
grow a team 2000, 10,000, hundred thousand, million people, because people
become independent, and they do the things by themselves. But if you’re doing
everything for your team members, then your team will never grow past 10, 20,
30 people because as soon as you stop doing everything for them, they'll stop
doing the business. As soon as you stop babysitting them, they'll stop and your
team can never grow beyond that.
So you as a leader, again, you can help 1000
but you can't carry three on your back. I don't care how strong you are. Maybe
one person jumps on your back, you keep going, a second person jumps on your
bag and you’re still doing it it's a bit harder. But if three people jump on
your back, you're going to fall down, right, that's how your business is going
to fall down too. So you can't carry people on your back. You can't do
everything for people; you need to teach them how to do it for themselves.
That's real leadership.
Sometimes people confuse it they say, “Oh but if I
don't do registrations for my team, if I don't place orders for my team, if I
don't do everything for my team, it does not mean that I'm not a good sponsor.
Doesn't that mean that I'm not a good leader?” No. Actually it means you are a
good leader because you teaching them to become independent. You’re teaching
them to do things by themselves. Now that doesn't mean you just abandon people
and leave them and never help them, No, you show them what to do. And then you
get them to do that's why I love a system called Tell Show Try Do so you tell a person what to do. Then you show
them how to do it. Then you let them try do it. And then once you're satisfied
that they're doing it well you just let them carry on doing it.
