You Are SELFISH If You Are Not Succeeding

Today’s topic is, you are selfish if you're not succeeding. Hmm, what a strange idea, isn't it? Or isn't my success is my deal? Isn't whether I become successful or not only affecting me?

Definitely not. I hear this from a lot of people and people go, “Well, I don't need to make a lot of money. I don't need to be making millions. I don't need to buy this huge house, I don't need to build this amazing huge business. What does it have to do with you?” Your success does not just affect you. So just the fact that you don't need more money should not be the deciding factor whether you still become successful and make a lot of money. If you don't need the money, give it away, impact other projects, help charities, help your family, help people back home or whatever, but that's not just about you.

If right now you're not reaching your full potential, if right now you not making as much money as you could be making, if right now you not impacting as many people as you couldn't be impacting, you are being selfish, because the only person you're thinking about is yourself. You basically saying, “Look, I have a roof over my head, I have food in the fridge, I have a car on the drive side, I need to work hard. I've took care of me. That's it. How selfish is that? How many hundreds and thousands of people are out there, who you could help, who you could impact, whose lives you could change, if only you got off your ass, if only you went in reach your full potential, if only you went and used all your talents, if only you went to went and build a massive business.

It's not about you, drop that from your mind that it's just about me. It's not just about you, it's about the example you showing to other people, it's about the space you setting for your team, it's about the image you creating. So it's not just about your success, is not just about you, it's about bigger things, it's about greater things.

Remember, the two biggest things that most amazing people in the world chase is growth and contribution. Growths meaning you grow yourself constantly, you grow your business, you grow your impact. And the second one is contribution. What are you contributing to? How are you impacting other people's lives? Because your days are counted.

At the end of the day, there's only so long you're going to be on this planet. So how are you going to leave behind, how are you going to impact the generations to come and so on? So it's down to you. So you shouldn't be just looking at it at like, “Oh, it's okay, I've got some money in the bank account. So today, I don't need to work hard.” It's not just about you. It's about the mission. It's about the vision, it's about the impact that you're creating. And when it becomes about that, then you're no longer being stopped by fear, you no longer being stopped by laziness, you no longer being stopped by procrastination, because you're not just doing it for yourself. If I told you, “Hey, you need to go and knock on 100 doors so you can make yourself a few hundred pounds? Would you go knock on 100?” “Ah, cold calling knocking on doors? Yak? That's disgusting. I wouldn't do that.”

But what if I told you that your
neighbor, they just found out that your neighbor's kid has cancer? And we want to fund-raise for that child, so they can help him with his disease? Would you knock on 100 doors? Would you go out and knock on 100 doors to help the neighbor's kid who has cancer? You’ll freaking do it? Would you feel embarrassed to do it? No, you wouldn't. Because you know, you're doing it for a good cause, you know, you're doing it to help other people.

Well, that's how you should be looking at your success day today. That's how you should be looking at building your business. Because the end game is not just to put some money into your bank account. The end game is not just to buy you a luxury house. The end game is not just to give you the travel and the endgame is not just to put a nice sports car on your drive, which is okay to get, it's okay to have all of those things because you do deserve them. If you become successful, why not buy that Lamborghini? Why not buy that house with the pool? Why not travel around the world? It's totally cool.

But that's not the end game. The end game is that you by doing that, you're going to impact loads of other people. Think about it. If you’re right now making 20, 30
40,000 a year, then it's only so many people you’re impacting very little, very little lives you affecting. But if you wanted to make a million a year, would you have to impact more people? Would you have to lead more people? Would you have to serve more people? Absolutely. What if you wanted to make a million a month? Would you have to impact even more people? Would you have to serve even more people? Absolutely. You see service too many leads to great greatness. Think about the wealthiest people in the world.

Think about successful business people. Let's talk about Richard Branson the owner of the Virgin companies. So he's got virgin health clubs, Virgin Airlines, Virgin phones, Virgin music, etcetera. Guess why he's a millionaire. Because he serving very many people through his businesses. Think about Steve Jobs. Has he served a lot of people? Absolutely. How many people have an iPhone? How many people have an iPod or an iPad? Right? So he served millions of people. And that's why he's built a tremendous, huge business. Think about Bill Gates, has Microsoft served a lot of people, millions of people around the world have Microsoft on the computers. So he has served all of these people and that's why he's built a tremendous business. Are you getting it, is the penny dropping?

So for you, in order to become successful, you're going to have to impact a lot of people, you're going to have to serve a lot of people, you're going to have to change a lot of other people's lives. And that's what it's all about. It's not about the money. You know, like Jim Rowan used to say, he used to say make a goal to become a millionaire. Not for the money. But for what it makes of you to become one. Make a goal to become a millionaire. Not for the money, but for what it makes of you to become one. Because in order for you to become a millionaire, well, you're not going to have to become a braver person.

Well you’re not going to have to become a more disciplined person who you're not going to have to become a better person, you know what I mean? You're going to have to grow yourself to get to that. Do you get me? The money is not important. If you want give it away once you made it right. But the skills, the type of person you become the type of person you develop, that's what's the most important.
