Why you should set ACTIVITY goals and not RESULTS goals?

Hey Guys,

Setting goals is one of the most important KEYS to success in business and personal life. Most people never set goals and end up struggling to progress in life. However, there is also different types of goals that you can set.

Most people only set RESULTS GOALS and even though results goals are better than no goals, it is sometimes setting yourself for failure. Let me explain what I mean. When we set a result goal like: "I will recruit one person a day" or "I will sell one product per day" or "I will loose 5 pounds per week" it is very easy NOT to achieve them and then feel disappointed and unwilling to do anything.

On the other hand, what you should do instead is to set ACTIVITY GOALS, the activity goals are not tied to an outcome therefore you have a much bigger chance of success. They would sound like "I will approach 10 people per day about my product or business" or "I will have 3 healthy meals per day" you see these unlike the results goals are focused on doing an activity rather than getting a particular result.

Therefore, you have more CONTROL over activity goals than you have over result goals. You can control how many people you will approach about your business but you cannot control how many people will join your business.

Here is a video where I go in a little more detail:
