Why you SHOULD NOT put links in your social media posts?

I want to talk about why you should not put links in your social media posts.

So whether that's a text post, whether that's a picture or whatever, why you should not put links into your social media posts. So there's two main reasons why you should not do it. First reason why you should not do it, because it assumes that the person wants to buy or wants to join. If you go, “Hey guys, I've got an amazing business, join my team.” That basically assumes that I want to join your team and assume, the beginning of the word is ass, so you can't be any good. So never assume that somebody is ready to buy anything from you or ready to join anything with you. So if you assume that somebody is ready to join, you’re making a big mistake, because at any point in time, if you have 1000 friends, maybe 5% will be ready to buy something from you, or will be ready to join something with you, the other 95% are not ready. If you’re putting a link right away, assuming that they're ready, they'll get annoyed, they'll go another one of those spamming because it is a spam.

If you send somebody the link right away, it's spam because you didn't ask if they wouldn't be open. You didn't ask if they would be interested. So that's one, it's just the psychology behind it, that shows that you’re assuming, that shows that you basically going right to business, right for the sale, like, “Oh, join my team, go and buy this thing from my online shop.” So that's one reason why you shouldn't do it. It's just a bad manners, is like asking the girl to kiss you before having a date with her. So that's just not the right way.

The second reason and a more important one because the moral bit might be not enough for you, the second reason why you shouldn't put links is because the social media platform on which you're on will punish you for that, will penalize you for that. What do I mean? Well, imagine you're on Facebook, and imagine you're putting a link to your site, to your online shop or whatever, what Facebook wants, Facebook wants that people who are on Facebook would stay on Facebook. Like Facebook doesn't want people to go off Facebook.

So if you create a post and you stick a link that takes people away from Facebook, guess what Facebook is thinking, they're not happy. They don't want people to go away from Facebook. So what will they do? They'll show less people your post, as opposed to if you didn't put that link in there. So they will punish you for that by showing post to less people and most social media platforms will work in that way. They will show your post less if you including links that are taking people off of the Facebook, right? So what should you do instead?

Well, instead, you should keep people in Facebook. I want to sell them something, but I want them to join my team. So how can I do that? Now if I can't put the link? Well, what you do instead, you send them to your messenger, or you send them to comments. So let's say same scenario, I want to recruit you or I want to sell your product, right? Totally cool. So I might go on my social media, and I might say, “Hey, guys, I just found this wonderful product that helps me to do these wonderful things.

And it's so wonderful, and it has wonderful ingredients, and it was made by wonderful people and wonderful scientists, and it's been used by wonderful people who makes them even more wonderful.” Now instead of saying, “Hey, here's the link to the wonderful product,” instead, I'll say, “and if you're interested in finding more about this wonderful product, why don't you drop me ‘Wonderful’ in the comments? Or why don't you drop me ‘info’ in the comments.

So now everybody who writes wonderful, or who writes info in the comments, I can then message them. I can say, “Hi Liz thanks for commenting. Wonderful, I just wanted to send you this video about my product. I wanted to send you the link.” And then in messenger, I can actually give you the link. If you're saying yeah, I'm interested in this product. Yeah, I'm interested in joining your business. Awesome. Here's my referral link. Awesome. Here's my online shop link.

By now Facebook is not annoyed, because I'm giving you the link in the private message, not on the public Facebook, which going to take everybody away from Facebook, you know what I mean? So that's how a lot more professional or you can send people right away to your messenger. So instead of them commenting, you can just say, hey, and if this is something that you're interested or you'd like to get more info, why don't you drop me a message and a person messages you say, “Hey, I'm interested about that product you posted speaking about cool. Here's the link, “but in the messenger.

This way, Facebook is not annoyed. 95 of your friends are not annoyed that you're spamming them, and everybody's happy. Everybody's happy is just a happy place. And it's easier to build business; it's easier to get more sales. And then the people, the 95 of your friends that were not interested in the weight loss product might still be interested in the other product that you'll share tomorrow, or the other thing that you will share the day after. But if you were just to bombard them with the links, they'll unfriend you. They'll unfollow you and they will never see what you were about to share with them two, three days later.

So that's why your post should always raise curiosity. Make people curious how does that work? How does this work and make them curious enough to either drop a comment or message you but of course make sure you include CTA call to action so don't just again, don't just ask soon that they will know to message that they will know to comment give them instruction if you interested comment if you interested message me right that's the call to action you giving them a call to action.
