Who Do You Know?

I wanted to talk to you about something that really tickled my brain yesterday as we were attending the conference here and one of the speakers from Lebanon, incredible guy, Mr. Ibrahim. He said one question that really, really reminded me of some interesting stuff. So you know when you get into network marketing, when you get into recruiting people, it's very often people are focusing on the person that they have recruited.

They recruit somebody into the business and they think, well, how can I make this person into a business person? How can I make this person into successful entrepreneur? How can I make this person want to recruit other people? How can I make this person want to sell products, and so on? So they only see what is in front of them, this one person, but actually, from experience, it is very rare that the person you recruited, who will become the big leader in your business, it's more often you'll find leaders deep down in your structure.

So you will invite somebody who will not do that much, but invite somebody else and that person also doesn't do very much, but the invite somebody else, and that person doesn't do very much, but they invite somebody else and somewhere five, six, seven levels down, a leader appears, somebody appears who's hungry for better life, somebody appears who's wants to really make a lot of money, somebody appears who wants to impact thousands of people and that's the leader in your business.

Very often, your biggest leaders will not be the people who you personally invited, it will be people somewhere deep down in your organization, but that's why you have to not forget to ask this question all the time. Whenever you recruit somebody, you ask them, “Who do you know?” So it's not about this person becoming a business person. It's not about you making this person into a leader. Not to say that you shouldn't, not to say that you shouldn't give advice to people and you shouldn't develop leaders in your team.

Absolutely, you should do that, but it's just, some people are not hungry. Some people don't want to build a huge business. Some people don't want to make a lot of money. Some people don't want to travel the world like you do. So it's okay, but you shouldn't ever forget to ask the person,” Hey, but who do you know? Who could you put me in front of me? How could you introduce me to? Who do you know who would like to earn extra income? Who do you know who's a stay at home mom? Who do you know who's retiring right now and maybe would like another project? Who do you know, who wants to buy a new house? Who do you know, who would like to get a new car? Who do you know who loves to travel?”

And that person can lead you to some incredible people because each person is like a window to more people. So, don't make a mistake that a lot of network marketers do, where they just focus on what's in front of them. If this person that I recruited, doesn't do the business seriously, that's it, I give up on that person, I go looking for another person, I go looking for another person. No, don't make that mistake. Instead, when you recruit somebody into the business, don't just look at that person as one person, look at them as a window to many, many, many, many other people.

But you always have to ask, “Who do you know? Who else you can introduce me to? Who else you can take me to? And this way, you can come to building huge structures and somewhere deep down, you'll find incredible leaders with whom you will build incredible business. But never forget to ask that one simple question. Everybody you meet.

What if you speak to somebody and they're not interested in your business? No problem. Who do you know who would be interested? What if you speak to somebody who's not interested in buying your product? No problem? Who do you know who might be interested? What if the other team member who's been in your team for a long time and haven't done anything? “Hey, I can see you in my team. I can see you not doing much. But hey, who do you know who might be interested?”

It's incredibly powerful question but you need to use it. Knowing it is not enough. Using it is what’s going to make you a fortune, what's going to build you incredible business and help you to advance your levels, help you to find incredible leaders deep down in your structure.
