What to say if the person is NOT SURE if they can do it?
I want to talk about what to do if your prospect is unsure if they can do it.
If they doubt themselves; whether they can actually manage to do this network
marketing business of yours. So the title of this blog post what to do if
somebody is not sure if they can do this business and once in a while or for
some of you more often than not.
You will come across people who will say, “Oh it
sounds great. It looks like it's an amazing opportunity, but I don't know if I
can do it. I'm not sure if I'll be able to do this right.” So the person is
doubting their own ability to do this business. And that can happen once in a
while, because guess what, a lot of people have been beaten down in their life
a lot, where they feel that they're not that good because in school, they were
told you're not going to amount to anybody in anything, you’re not good, you're
just this, that and the other, etc.
Maybe their spouses have put them down
before, maybe their parents have put them down before and sometimes people have
been knocked down so many times, that they lose belief in themselves, and they
don't believe they see other people and they say, “I believe that other people
can make this, but I don't believe that I can do it.” So once in a while, you will
get a person like that and often I get a question. So what do you do with a
person like that? How do you counter that doubt? What do with that person?
And
the best thing to do is to answer it with a question. So if somebody says, hey,
it sounds great, but I don't know if I can do it. The best thing for you to do
is ask them a question. Hey, totally cool. But just out of curiosity, why do
you think you wouldn't be able to do it? Why don't you think you would be able
to do it? And get them to elaborate. Well, I'm not a great salesperson. Cool.
That's not a problem. What if I could train you? What if I could show you how
to sell? Would you give a chance then to this business? Well, I'm not sure if I'll
have enough time. Cool. That's understandable. What if I could show you how you
could do this business part time, just with your spare time with just a couple
of hours a week? Would that work for you?
So
when you ask them why they think they wouldn't be able to do it, you can figure
out what is their limiting belief. What is stopping them? What is preventing
them from saying yes, and making that decision? Also, if you get this like, hey,
I don't think I would be able to do this. If you get this a lot, you need to
think if maybe the way you're doing the presentation, if maybe the way you're
showing them the business is what's scaring them, because that's why I'm a fan
of showing the presentation by showing a video. If you show them a video, it's
easy, like anybody can show a video.
But if you do the presentation yourself
with like, you talk for an hour, hour and a half, then a person will say, “Oh,
my Gosh, I can't do that because I wouldn't remember all of this stuff. I
wouldn't memorize all of this presentation; it would be so difficult to learn
everything. If you do the presentation by yourself, it might look like it's
very difficult, right? But if you just show a video and you say to the person
look, all I'm going to do is I'm going to play a video and then after the
video, I'm going to press stop and ask you what did you like the best. And if
you decide to do this business, that's exactly the same thing. That's what you
would have to do to show other people the video. That's easy, isn't it? You
know what I mean?
So
you show them that. It's very duplicatable you show them that it's doable,
right? This way, you'll have less people saying, oh, I don't think I would be
able to do it because if you get it all the time, it's the way you're
presenting. They thinking that you're too smart. They're not as smart as you
are. They think that you are too brilliant and then not as brilliant as you. So
you need to show them that it's very doable. It's very duplicatable, it's not a
hard thing to do in order to present this business and if you show it, you will
get a lot less of that, oh I don't think I could do it.
