Today I wanted to talk to you about what to do if somebody selling your products cheaper on Amazon or an eBay.
What can you do? Let's say you're talking to a potential customer and they say, “You know what, but I saw this product cheaper on eBay,” what do you do? How do you overcome that? What do you say to that person? Some companies have people who do dodgy stuff and they start selling products lower than business partner price and things like that. And so what do you do? What do you do if you find out that your customer realised that somebody is selling the product cheaper on Amazon?
Well, there's not much you can do actually, companies, they can stop people's accounts and they can prevent people from selling these products online and things like that, but to a very limited success rate. And I mean, you're not going to become a police person and chase every single person who's selling the products on eBay or on Amazon. But a very clever thing that you can actually do will work very well and when you want your customer to buy from you more expensively and not to buy cheaper from eBay, what you need to do is create doubt in their head.
What do I mean by that? What do I mean by saying you have to create doubt in their head so let's say I'm selling a product and my customer goes, “Hey but I saw this product 20% cheaper on eBay I'll say, “Hey I don't know if you realised but these products they have expiry date and sometimes people sell products on eBay that are expired. I don't know about you but you know my family's health is really important to me and I wouldn't like to buy something that is expired and gift for my family to use.”
What I just did I created doubt in their head; now is that products on eBay expired? I don't know but it might be. By creating a doubt in their head now I’m causing them to double think do I want to gamble and spend that money and get God knows what from eBay or do I rather get a good quality product that is indeed from this person,?
Or maybe it's fake. Again, hey you know, I don't know what's there, some people create fake accounts sell horrible stuff, you know, and then they disappear; sell copies and fake stuff etc. Again, I don't know what it is, you know if you want to gamble and if you want to gamble with your money go on, spend money on eBay or Amazon. I wouldn't do that; I would only buy a product like that from our authorised distributor like myself. So the only thing you can do in those cases is just create doubt in a person's mind where they will think, “Hey, you know what, I'd rather pay extra but get the good quality from this person than risk getting something that is expired or getting something that is lesser quality from there.”
Hope this makes sense, hope this helps you guys if it does feel free to share this blog post with other people. See you all at the top!
Yours in success
