Treat Every Prospect As A Diamond
Today
I wanted to talk to you about treating every prospect as a diamond.
When me
and Rita were in Las Vegas, we went to a place called, how's it going, oh,
machine gun Vegas. Basically, it was a place where we could shoot semi
automatic guns, automatic guns, pistols, and things like that. And when we went
to the shooting place in Las Vegas, I remember one thing that we got assigned a
trainer, a person who will look after us. So we got assigned this trainer who's
going to show us how to use the guns and everything and the first thing he
said, “Treat every gun as loaded. So no matter, even if you know it's not
loaded, still treat it as loaded, never point it at another person and so on
and so on.” So like, treating it seriously.
Now, of course, we did do that and
we had a great fun shooting all of these AK47 and pistols and everything.
However, I think there’s a valuable lesson to as well for us in the business,
for us to treat every prospect as a diamond as well. So how you would treat
every gun as loaded, that's how you should treat every prospect too because I
think sometimes we prejudge people. So with some people will look after them
very well and we treat them very well with other people not so much because
some way in our mind, we made a decision that add that person is not going to
make it, that person is not serious, that person is not good enough, that
person whatever and sometimes we disqualify, or sometimes we don't value and end
up losing some of the best people who could have been amazing people in our
business simply because we sort of pick and choose who to treat well, and who
to really work hard with, and so on.
So,
of course as a business person, you have to see who's wasting my time and so
on, but the advice I'm trying to give you here in this blog is treat every
prospect as if it was the next diamond, because they might as well happen to be
the next diamond in your team. So treat everybody with respect, treat everybody
with helping them, supporting them, honoring them, as if that person
is going to be the next diamond because they might as well be. But if you don't
treat them as a diamond, then guess what, and then definitely no, they're not
going to become one.
You as a leader, you as a mentor you’re always like a
prime example, you’re like the blueprint for them to look at, for them to be
like. So you want to make sure that you always treat people well and then you
treat people and tell them that you can be the next diamond. I know you have
everything that it takes, give them the compliments, give them the
encouragement, give them the support that they need to be the best selves,
because we’re all different kinds of people, and we would love to work just
with people like ourselves. But if you only going to work with people like
yourself, then you're going to miss out on most of the population in the world.
Because less people are like you then you know what I mean?
So we need to learn
to accept to work with everyone, and to help to treat everybody as if it was an
exam and even if you’re prospecting and you haven't even showed the
presentation yet to that person, treat them as if they were the next diamond in
your team and see what happens because most people, they just want to feel
important. They just want to feel like they're somebody to you not just the
number, not just another name on the list, you know what I mean? So when you
treat people as a person, when you treat people, when you listen to them, when
you give them attention, they will see the difference and they'll go, “Wow,
this person is different. They actually are treating me differently than
everybody else in network marketing or in home based business or that everybody
else.” And that's how sometimes you'll have some crazy good people to develop
in your team.
