This blog is about Think and Grow Rich,
the power of your mind and the power of you to achieve anything you want in
your life. So this is going to be quite interesting. I'm going to share with
you some great tips. Think and Grow Rich was a book written by a guy called
Napoleon Hill many, many, many, many years ago and the premise of the book is
that whatever your mind can conceive can achieve.
If you can think of something, that means you can achieve it, you could actually make it into a reality, but there are certain steps or certain things that have to happen in order for those dreams of yours, in order for those goals of yours, to become reality, and there's actually five things. So I'm actually going to go through those five things. And if you pay attention to this, and if you put this stuff into practice, you can achieve some pretty amazing stuff in your life, whether it's financially or to do with other areas of your life. So, this is going to be quite useful and if you have any, people who would like to achieve their goals, who would like to achieve big things in life, you might want to share this video with them later on. Okay, so what are those five things that make your goals into reality, your dreams into reality?
So number one is definiteness of purpose. So do you actually know what you want? Now, it might sound like a silly question. It might sound like absurd question, how could I not know what I want? But do you really? Have you actually sat down and written down your goals? Have you actually sat down and thought in detail what exactly you'd like to achieve because I meet people all the time who don't know what they want because they, for example, they join a home based business and they go, “Awesome.” So how much money would you like to earn? And they go, “Oh, oh, oh, that's not a good question.”
That's not a good answer because if you don't even know how much money you'd like to earn, how are you going to earn it? If you don't see the target, how can you hit the target? So number one is what is your purpose? What is your goal? What is your dream? What are you working towards? You want a house? What sort of house? How many bedrooms? Where is that house? How does it look like? You want to earn more money? How much more because if you say to me, “I want to earn more money.” Well, here is one pound, now you've got more money. “Oh, no, I want more than that.” So how much more? How much per month? How soon do you want to earn that? So do you actually know exactly what you want? Have you sat down and written down the things Think and Grow Rich. So are you thinking the things you want to happen in reality? So that's number one.
Number two, is desire as an all consuming obsession, desire as an all consuming obsession. So how badly do you want it? How badly do you want this to happen? And that is your why. So how badly do you want to achieve that financial freedom? How badly do you want to get that house? How badly do you want to be on that stage? How badly do you want to become successful business person? How badly do you want that? That's your why. That's the driver. That's what’s going to get you out of bed in the morning when you don't feel like it, that's what's going to get you going. So that's desire as an all consuming obsession. It's a very important word obsession.
Think about people who become very successful, whether it's in music, in acting, in sports, in business in whatever. They become obsessed by that one thing in which they want to become really good at. So are you obsessed by your business? Are you talking to every single person about your business that you meet? Are you showing your products to every single person that you bump into? Are you obsessed by it, will you live by it, you're learning it, you're watching videos about it, you're read in books about it, you're listening to audios about it, you're attending trainings about it, you are consumed by it, it becomes your lifestyle. Are you that committed to your dream?
Are you that committed to your goal or is your goal an optional thing? If you reach it, awesome, if you don't reach it, I have a job that pays the bills. So how important, how big is your why? They say your why should make you cry. So how big is the reason? How big is that burning desire inside of you to achieve that thing? So that's your why. So that's number two.
Number three is clear plans to fulfill once definite purpose. So that is your how. So first of all, you need to know what do you want, secondly, you need to know why do you want it, how important that is for you and then number three, you need to know how you're going to make it happen because it's all very well to be motivated, to be fired up, to be excited, but if you don't know how you're going to make it into a reality, then that's going to be very difficult. So do you know how? Do you have a plan of action on achieving that dream of yours? Or is it just a pipe dream where you're just, “Oh, yeah, I'd love to become rich one day. Yeah, I'd love to drive a nice car one day.”
You haven't got any clear plans on how you're going to achieve that. What's your plan of action? So if you want to become financially free, if you want to become rich, what’s your goal? How are you going to do that? Are you going to do that with your present job? Are you going to do that by complaining and whining how bad your life is? Are you going to do that by striking? Are you going to do that by asking for a raise? What's your plan? Do you actually have a plan of action? This is how am I going to achieve this position in my business. This is how I'm going to achieve this income in my business. These are the actions I'm going to do and this is how often I will do those actions in order to achieve my goal in order to achieve my dream. That's your plan of action, clear plan to fulfill your goal. So first you need to know what, two you need to know why and then you need to know how.
And many people very often they jump into how right away. When I'm training people in home based business, usually the only interested in the how, the script, what word to use, what message to send, what video to show, what training to do, the how, how, how, but how only comes third. If you don't know what exactly you want, if you don't know why you want it, if you don't have that burning desire, then how isn’t going to help you. It’s not going to change anything.
So many people are addicted to learning the strategies, the techniques, the technologies, to all of that, when they don't even have a strong idea of what they actually want. They don't have a strong idea of why do they want it, why is that important for them, but they looking for how, how can I become rich? How can I make this money? How can I do? How is not that important, how is only a small part of it, the why and the what is a lot more important, but it is important, because they say if you fail to plan, then you're planning to fail. So you have to make a plan. And again, have you actually sat down and took a piece of paper and wrote down your plan? What's your plan, because again, what I'm trading people one I'm coaching people in business and I asked them, I say, “Well, okay, so what would you like to achieve? How much money would you like to make, this much." And they go, “Okay.” “So what's your plan?” “Maybe I'll get lucky.”
Most people don't have a plan. So, have you sat down and wrote out what activities I will do every single day to get closer to that goal, to get closer to that result, to get closer to that dream of mine? Do I have a plan of action? What am I going to do over the next three months? What am I going to do over the next six months? What am I going to do over the next nine months? What am I going to do over the next five years? What am I going to do over the next 10 years? And over several years, he’s like, “Oh my gosh, like five years, 10 years. Oh.” Yes, you need to plan. You have to plan it. So that's number three, clear plans to fulfil one's definite purpose.
Number four is determination, persistence that doesn't recognize failure, persistence, determination that does not recognize failure. Failure is not an option. You will do this despite and until, you’ll do it despite all the obstacles, you'll do it despite all the challenges, you'll do it despite all the problems, and you will do it until you get the results.
When you become that obsessed about your goal, when you come that immersed in your dream, in your mission, in your vision, then nothing can stop you. No challenges, no people not supporting you, no people laughing at you, no people, whatever, it cannot stop you, you are unshakable because you're going to keep going, you're going to do whatever it takes, you're going to persist and you're going to keep determined and you're going to keep yourself disciplined.
Discipline is doing the things you need to do after the initial excitement has gone. When you first joined the business, you're super excited, you’re pumped up, but that wears off. That's not going to last forever. But discipline is when you keep doing what you need to do. Even after that excitement has gone. But you can once in a while, recharge your batteries. You know, I'm in beautiful Paris Hotel in Las Vegas, why am I here? Is to recharge my batteries. Learn from successful people; get motivation, get inspiration, get ideas. So once in a while, you need to recharge your batteries, you need to get more motivation. But are you committed enough to keep going even if you don't get motivation? Even if you don't feel like doing it in the morning? Are you committed enough?
And then the last one, number five is success consciousness. Do you have that success consciousness? Are you investing in yourself constantly to move towards your goal, to move towards your desires? Because the goal is to move the mountain in your head first in your mind first, before you move it in reality, right? So do you have that belief? Do you have that mentality of I will achieve whatever I need to do, and you need to work on your mind-set. You need to work on your mind. Thinking you’re rich was all about the mind-set, whatever your mind can conceive, it can achieve. So you need to work on new ways of thinking and mastering those new ways of thinking, you must learn to protect your mind so that it's not attacked by negativity all the time. So that is not attacked by doubt all the time. It's not attacked by disappointments all the time. Because not every thought that runs through your mind is true. And not every thought that runs through your mind is helpful.
A lot of you have a lot of what is called limiting beliefs, where you have a goal, you have, you have a vision of what you would like to achieve, etcetera but you keep saying things like, “Well, why am I so unsuccessful? Well, why am I so stupid? Why am I not achieving results? Oh I'm not good enough, I'm not smart enough or I'm not whatever.” But you are basically sabotaging your own success by the things you’re saying. The words that you say are extremely powerful. The words turn into things. So if you say negative things, if you're programming because with using your words you’re programming your mind, the only way to program this computer is by your words.
So you use your language to program this computer, this amazing computer your mind. So if you’re saying negative things, “Oh it's not going to work out. Oh, but she's not going to be interested. Oh, but I'm not going to become successful. Oh, but I'm not that smart. Oh but I'm not that beautiful. Oh, but I'm black or yellow. Oh, I'm blue, white. Oh I'm too old. Oh, I'm this.” If you keep saying all of these little things that might look like, “Oh, it's not that important.” It is. Believe you me the more you use that negative language, the more you’re programming this computer to fail to sabotage your success.
The way you think about successful people, if you're jealous when you see somebody making a lot of money, when you see somebody succeeding, when you see somebody getting results that you're not getting, and you jealous about them, and you think or say bad things about them, guess what you're doing, you are ensuring that you will never make any money, you are ensuring that you will never achieve success, you are guaranteeing that you will never have those type of results. Why? Why is that? Well think about it. If you see a successful person who's making a lot of money, who's achieving the results that you haven't achieved, who is very successful and you say, “They are so and so, they are greedy, they are whatever.” So what are you saying to your mind?
You’re saying to your mind that when I become successful, other people will be saying bad things about me. Hmm. So your mind goes, “Well, I don't want people to say bad things about me.” So I will ensure that you don't become successful so that people don't say bad things about you, so that people don't talk behind your back. Great. Now you're going to stay broke for the rest of your life. Now you're going to stay in a miserable, average life for the rest of your life. It's what you're saying that's affecting how you’re doing, how you’re achieving things, how you’re progressing in your life.
A lot of those things that you’re saying to yourself, or that you’re thinking, they're not true, you decided that they are true. You decided that you're not good enough. You're not smart enough. You're not a salesperson. You're not a business person. But that's you deciding it. It's not true. It's not universal truth. Because, again, I could give you stories of people who are in a much worse situation than where you are, in much worse health than you are, in much worse different positions of life, who have achieved success, who have created success in spite of those problems.
What does that mean? Is what you think is not always the truth. But yet, if you accept it as the true, then it becomes your reality. It's called self-fulfilling prophecy. So if you keep saying, one of the popular ones is when people say, “Well, I'm not very good with names. I don't remember people's names.” So they meet somebody new and they go, “Hi, my name is John.” “Yeah, my name is Trevor” and they go, “I'm sorry, I'm not really good with names. I'll probably forget your name.” Guess what's going to happen? They’re going to forget their name because they are programming their minds that, “I'm not good with names, I forget names.” They'll forget the name.
So you need to progress; starts working on your mind and start programming it in a positive way. So you need to program your mind positively, to empower your mind to achieve things, to give it the fire that it needs. So using maybe positive questions, asking yourself how could I make more money? How could I become more successful? How could I impact more people? Because then your brain is going to start looking for an answer. “Well, how could you make more money? Well, you could do that. And you could do this.”
And these ideas will start popping into your head because you're programming it in the right way and protecting your mind against the negativity. Like, I don't watch news on TV. I don't read newspapers. I don't listen to news on the radio when I'm driving. Why? Because I'm protecting my mind. I'm protecting this computer. Because rubbish in, rubbish out. I don't want to have rubbish out. I want to have good things out. So I have to put good things. But if I'm watching news every day, I'm reading newspapers, I'm listening to news on the radio, all of that negativity, who's killing who? Where are the terrorists? And where's this? And where's that? Then what am I programming into my mind? That the world is a horrible place, that it's all negative, that it's all bad, we’re all doomed. If I program that, hey I’ll lose my belief, I'll lose my faith, I'll lose everything and that's why I need to program it in a positive way. That's why I read good books instead of newspapers, I watch good programs instead of negative ones. I go to trainings you know I invest in myself in order to program my mind in a positive way.
We’ll be attending an event here in Las Vegas and the people who are going to go on that stage training us how to become more successful in home based business, how to make more money, how to become a better leader, and so on people who will be going on that stage training us are earning $100,000 a month, $200,000 a month, $300,000 a month. These are the type of people that I want to listen to. These are the people I want to learn from, not my broke neighbor, who's bad mouthing everything but hasn't got any success of his own. So he's not qualified to train me. You know what I mean? I look for people who I can duplicate, who I can copy, who I can model their results so that I can achieve the same results too.
