The WORST thing you can do to an INACTIVE person
I want to talk about one of the worst things you can do to an inactive person
in your business. So if somebody took a step back, if somebody put the business
on the back burner, what you shouldn't do. What’s the worst thing you can do to
an inactive person, somebody who's taking a step back, somebody who's not
actively building the business?
The
worst thing you can do is make them feel like a disappointment. Make them feel
like a disappointment. If you reach out to somebody who hasn't been active in
the business and by the way, you're talking to them, by the way you say things,
you make them feel like they're not doing the job, you make them feel like
they're not doing enough, that's one of the worst things you can do because
that will just encourage them to stay inactive, that will discourage them from
taking action.
What
should you do if you have somebody who hasn't been very active, who has taken a
step back? The best thing you can do is reach out to that person and make them
curious. Make them curious about a new product. Make them curious about the new
incentive program. Make them curious about the new training event. Make them
curious about something new, something that they haven't seen while they were inactive.
This way, it will take away the feelings of, “Oh, why are you such a letdown.”
They'll go, “Whoa, that's interesting. Let me find out. Let me try that new product.
Let me go to this event.” So when you're reaching out to somebody who hasn't
been active, you need to act as if nothing has happened. You need to act as if
they were active the whole time. You should reach out to them and go, “Hey, how
you doing? Hope you're well, not sure you've seen but the company just released
this amazing new product. Have you tried it yet? Well, I'm not sure if you have
seen, but there's going to be an amazing webinar tonight. Are you jumping on
it?”
You're
not going to go, “Hey, why have you been inactive for so long? Why are you not
doing?” No, no, no, that's the worst thing you can do. Instead, make them
curious, make them excited about something to jump on a new call or jump on a
new product, see the new incentive program or whatever it is, that will be a
lot smarter and a lot more effective.
