The PRICE of your new life is your OLD life

The title of this is the price of your new life is your old life. What on earth does it mean?

Well, what it means is that you cannot have all the things you want to have in your life and still be clutching on holding on your old life. You can't. You can't have your new dream life by holding on to your problems, by holding on to your things that you don't have or your lacks or your challenges, you can't. Some people look for the fault inside of them like there was a reward for it? “Oh, but my English is not good enough. Oh, but I'm not so beautiful as others. Oh, but I'm not so smart as others.” And they keep looking for all the things that are wrong with them. Like there's a reward for it.

Well, let me break the news, there is no reward for looking for bad things. If you look for all the bad things about yourself, if you look for all the stupid things you did in the past, then you straight away are sabotaging your future because you keep reminding to your brain, all the things that are bad about you, guess what's going to happen in the future, same things. So the price of change, the price of having your dream life, the price of having that new life is for you to drop all of that baggage, is for you to leave the old life behind.

You need to learn from the past, but you can't be living in the past. If you keep reminding yourself about all the past, “Oh, but in the past, I didn't succeed. Oh, but in the past, I didn't recruit anybody. But in the past I didn't get results in business. But in the past, I had bad relationships.” It doesn't matter. Your past doesn't equal your future. If you keep doing that, that's like driving your car and just looking at the rear-view mirror. Can you drive your car like that? You can't, you have to look forward, you have to look in front of you through the front window.

So that's what you have to do in your life if you want it to change, if you want it to get better, then you need to start looking forward, not looking back. Doesn't matter what happened in the past. Doesn't matter how many times you failed. Doesn't matter what somebody told you, maybe your parents, maybe your teachers, maybe your friends, maybe your partner, maybe your husband or your wife said to you, “Oh, you're not good enough for anything, you will not achieve anything. You're too stupid. You’re this and that.” It doesn't really matter. Other people's opinion about you is none of your business. So stop paying attention to it. What other people think of you, it's their business. It's none of your business. What you think of you is the most important thing because you are not who you think you are, but who you think you are. Do you get it? You're not who you think you are, but who you think you are. That's the difference.

Start breaking free of that. So that's the difference. That's the price for your now new life. If you want to become financially free, financially successful, be wealthy, have enough money so you never have to worry about money, then again, you have to leave the old life behind. Because if you've been working in a dead end job, where you're not making any progress, where there is no opportunity for you to make more money and you still clutching on that job, “Oh, I can't even look at anything else because I have the security.”

Well then stay at the crappy job, stay at the dead end job. But stop complaining that you don't have the things that you would like to have you. But if you want to have better things in life, if you want to have more money if you want to travel the world, if you want the luxury car, so then at least be open to hearing about other opportunities. You know, I love this joke and it's also true, there’s this man who's at his bedside, praying in the evening, and he's saying, “God, I'm a good person. I'm a family man. I look after my kids. You know, I don't drink I don't smoke. I don't gamble but we're just so struggling financially. Why couldn't you at least help you win a lottery or something.” He hears the thunder sounds, the clouds separated God's voice comes from above and it says, “John, at least buy the bloody lottery ticket.”

So what's the lesson in here? Well, the lesson is you can't have the change. You can't ask for things if you're not willing to even take a step. If you're not even willing to open up to these opportunities that are coming to you, you know what I mean? Does that make sense even? That's really the cost of change. That's really the cost of making progress is leaving the old things behind is shedding that skin is renewing yourself. You know, if I looked at you face to face if you stood in front of me and I looked at you face to face, what version of you will
I see? Am I seeing still the bitter version 1.0 or is it a new version? Are you changing? You’re upgrading your phones all the time, you're upgrading your TVs all the time, you're upgrading your car all the time. Are you upgrading you? Is this a new version of you that I'm seeing?

Or is this the same version that I've been seeing for the last 10 years? You know what I mean? Because so many people go, “Oh, I’ve got 10 years’ experience in that,” do you? Or do you have one years’ experience repeated 20 times, you know what I mean? So, if you want to have the breakthrough, if you want to have the change, start being open to it. And there are two qualities that are so important. One is you have to be hungry. If you're not hungry, if you don't have the why, if you don't have the desire to change your life, then doesn't matter. You can have the best people in your life. You can read the best books in your life. Well, you probably won't read them anyway. You can have everything you have all the opportunities in the world, you're still not going to take them in. You know, it said they say you can bring the horse to the water, but you can't make a drink if it doesn't want, right, so you have to have the desire.

The second, you have to be coachable. You have to be open minded. You have to accept the information, because I work with so many people in business so often I see people who are failing in business is because they're resisting. They're resisting everything. They're resisting any training, they're resisting any help. They're resisting any advice. They're resisting any criticism, everything because they think they know everything. They think they know the best. They think they always do the right thing, and they resist everything and then they're surprised why their life is not changing. They're surprised why they're not making the money. They surprised why they're not getting any more help from anybody because hey, if you try to help somebody, they resist you tried to help them again, they resist how many times you're going to try because before you go, “Well, I'm going to go and help other people.

Because this person every time I try to help them, they resist me.” You know what I mean? So stop resisting, become coachable, become open minded, start listening to people who are more successful than you and stop listening to people who are more messed up than you because usually people get it other way around. They're not listening to successful people, but they're listening to the broke brother in law. They're listening to the broke neighbour. They like taking all of their advice, you know, they are not qualified to give you advice. They are not qualified to take you to the next level in life. So stop listening to them.

Whenever you taking advice from somebody, ask yourself a question, is this person qualified to give me advice? So if you want advice on losing weight, and somebody who weighs 200 kilos, was giving you advice, you would probably not take the advice from them, because they haven't been managing their own weight very well. Right. So same way about finances, about relationships, about everything. When you hearing somebody giving you the advice, ask yourself a question, is this person qualified to give me advice on this topic, in this niche of life, right.
