Stay at home Mum vs Work from home Mum

I want to talk about the difference between stay at home mom and work from home mom.

Very often when I speak to aspiring, entrepreneurs aspiring network marketers, people who want to start building their own business, and sometimes they already started, very often they say, “Well, if only I could do this full time, then I would really crush it in this business. But now that I only do this part time, sort of doesn’t work for me, I'm not making any money. I'm not having any success. But if only I could quit my job and just do this, then I would absolutely kill it, I would absolutely destroy it.”

And this is one of the biggest misconceptions about home based business. And this is one of the biggest misconceptions about entrepreneurship, because you see, nine times out of 10, if the person can't make this work part time, if they can't make it work doing this in addition to the job, or to whatever they do, then going full time is not going to make any difference anyway.

Because if right now you've got two free hours a day spare from your job and everything, and you're not using those two, three hours productively to build your business and instead you're spending that to watch Telly or do whatever, then guess what, if you quit your job and go full time in network marketing, you're just going to spend instead of three hours a day, you'll spend eight hours a day in front of TV.

You are still going to build your business because you're now not using the time productively, why would you use it more productively when you have more of it? You’re just going to waste more time. So you see, most people mentally they want to go from employee to entrepreneur. But in reality, what happens they go from employee to unemployed.

Instead of actually building the dream, instead of building their business, instead of building their empire, they just become unemployed, they just sit around all day, they just watch Telly all day. They just do everything except building their business. That’s why the title of this blog is stay at home mom versus work from home mom and it could be stay at home dad versus work from home dad. So just the fact that you would stay at home doesn't mean that you would work from home is a big difference guys.

If you really want to succeed in business, if you really want to be an entrepreneur, first if you’re right now employed, start building it part time, use those hours in the evening. Like Gary Vaynerchuk says, he goes, “Hey, everybody has time to build the business, is from 9pm to 2am.” That's the time you have to build. And most of you will go, “Oh my God, surely, I'm not going to be staying up till two o'clock in the morning to build my home based business.”

Well, you aren’t going to make it then. Then you're not serious, then you're not committed to your dreams. Because if you were really passionate about it, if you were really serious about it, if you really wanted to do it, guess what? You would stay up till two o'clock in the morning to build your business, and then go to work next day. Then come back and repeat it again and repeat it again. The weekend comes, you would spend Saturday and Sunday building your business, chasing your dream. That's what a true entrepreneur does.

If right now whatever spare time you have, you're not using to build your business, going full time isn’t going to make any difference. Actually, it's most likely going to make things worse. Why? I'll tell you why. Because of stress, you see, there's two kinds of people. There's a group of people that are motivated by stress. And then there's a much bigger group who are paralyzed, disabled by stress. So what do I mean by that?

Well imagine you quit your job right now, you say, “Oh, I'm going to chase my dream. I'm going to build my business.” You quit your job. So money stops coming in from your job. And now you start your network marketing business, you start your home based business. Now, guess what, the money is not going to start coming right away, at least the first couple of months. There's not much money, there's a lot of work to be put in, but it's not that much money.

Now you've got no money coming in from your job, and you've got no money from your new business. Now, you're going to get stressed because you've got bills coming in, you still have to pay rent or mortgage, you still have to put food on the table and everything. And there's nobody coming in.
Now either you're burning through your savings, or you're using your credit cards to go in debt. Either way, it's not a great option.

For most people, you will get stressed because of that, because there's no money coming in, and there's money coming out. When you do get stressed, if you're like most people, you're going to get paralyzed. You're going to go, “Oh my gosh, there's no money coming in. I'm so stressed. It's a nightmare.” And you're going to start panicking. And most likely, you'll go back to your job, and you'll quit your home based business. That's what most people do. There's a small group of people who get motivated by stress. So when the under pressure and when there's no money coming in, they'll start working harder, and they will make the money but it's a very small group.

If I had to bet, I would say you would get paralyzed by stress. Leaving your job before you have the income coming in from your home based business, it is not a good idea. I waited two and a half years before I quit my job in order to go full time in network marketing, and even that, I would say was a little bit early. If I would do it again, I would wait another six months maybe, I would wait maybe a year to build my business to even larger scale before I quit my job. You know what I mean?

It's not all about piece of cake and it's not all better roses, it's going to be challenging, it's going to be tough. It's going to require you to focus and work hard. If you're not prepared for that, don't get seduced with the sexy thing of being entrepreneur, with a fashionable thing of running your own business being a boss babe, or whatever, be serious about it. Don't play around with it. If you do decide to go into this thing, go committed, go serious, go and show example to other people how to do it.
