Success Is A Way Of Life - Not A Destination

I want to talk about the two seasons of business, what is the sowing season and the second one is the reaping season.



The sowing season is the investment stage where we’re putting in a lot of time and effort, and we don't necessarily see very much result but we put in all of this work and we put in all of this effort.

And then the reaping season is when we’re making the money, when we’re getting the results, when we’re getting the reward for all the sowing that we did.

But the very good distinction, a very good thing to understand that sowing season and reaping season are not in one season. A lot of people sow today, and they want to reap tomorrow. They put in the work today, and they expect to get the result tomorrow. And part of that is because a lot of people who come in business, come from an employee mentality where you’re in a job or you got a job, you work for a week, and you start getting paid right away. Nobody says, “Hey, it's going to take a couple of months before you get paid.” No, it doesn't work like that in a job; you do the works, you get paid at the end of the week.

But entrepreneurship is slightly different because here we put in a lot of time and effort at the beginning and don't see very much result, then in another season, we'll start getting paid a lot and we don't need to put so much work and effort. It takes time to build up the business. But once the business is running, and then you’re reaping the rewards. So if you understand that, if you are okay with the fact that the sowing seasons, and the reaping season, are not going to be in one season, then you will be okay to do the work.

Because very often, we are putting in the work week after week, month after month without seeing the result, and then after a few months, we start seeing the results for some it may take a year or so. That beginning stage is the crucial stage because that's when most people quit. That's when most people give up. That's when most people think, “Ah, it doesn't work.” But reality is it was working, they just didn't wait long enough for the reaping season to come.
