I want to talk about a social media check-up.
A couple of days ago, we had a training with one of the huge leaders in our company, massively successful lady and one of the things she shared with us was it was a great idea I thought, which is called social media check-up.
Now the whole point of it is that obviously we building a lot of our businesses through social media, whether that's Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and it is hard for you to inspect yourself or to check yourself. Very often, you’re posting and you think well this is great stuff I’m posting, I'm doing everything right. But what this leader suggests is that you pair up yourself with somebody and say your team members, pair your team members up, so that you can check each other's social media.
Instead of you trying to inspect your own social media, you ask somebody else from your team to take a look at your social media, and you take a look at their social media. And this way, you can give each other constructive criticism, tips and advice on how to improve your Facebook, your Instagram, because somebody from the side can come in and say, “Hey, you could do this as well. And you could make this better by doing that. And if I were you, I would get rid of that, because that doesn't serve you and so on.” So this way, when you pair up with somebody else and do the social media check-up, it can really give you a lot of ideas, a lot of great insights in what else you could do in your business.
We always need to improve, we always need to develop, we always need to evolve as business people because we want to get better and better results. And what most people do, they never reflect they never look back. They just always, “Oh, where's the next customer? Where's the next business partner?” Instead of looking, how can I improve what I'm already doing? Most people don't actually inspect what they've been doing, they just keep like, “Oh, what's the new idea? What's the new idea?”
So sometimes it's worthwhile to take a look at what you've been doing, and say, “Hey, what's working.” Like, every time I post something like this, I get loads of likes, but every time I post this, it's crickets like, nobody likes it. Everybody hates it. So why keep doing something that doesn't work, maybe do more of something that works. That's the whole idea behind it.
