Remind your customers about you!

I want to talk about reminding about yourself to your customers. What do I mean? Why would you have to do that?

Because the mistake I did when I first started in home based business, I would sell a product to somebody, I would deliver the product, give them my business card, and I would hope that they would call me. When they need more product, they would give me a ring, they will reach out to me. And when that didn't happen, I was like, “Oh, maybe they didn't like my product. Maybe they're not happy with me.”

And I started imagining all of these things until I learned that people are lazy. People look for the easiest path. Our brain is wired in a way to look for the path of least resistance, the easiest path and guess what's the easiest thing to do? Nothing. The easiest thing is to do nothing. And that's why even though you sell a better quality product, even though it might be even better price or whatever, the next time the person is in the supermarket, they see a worse quality product at a higher price they'll grab that product, put it in the basket. Why? Because it's convenient. That's what matters the most, convenience and ease.

You have to make it easy for your customer to buy from you. If your customer has to go, “Oh, who was that person who sold me that product? What was the name? I can't find them now.” That's too difficult. That's too difficult; they’re not going to bother with that. They're just going to go on Amazon, they're just going to go on eBay, they're just going to go on supermarket, they're just going to go in duty free next time they in the airport and they buy a worse quality product at a higher price because it's easy.

Think about it, why does Coca Cola advertise? Everybody knows about coca cola? Why the heck are they advertising? Because they have to keep reminding to you about themselves. If they don't, they know you're going to go and buy the bloody Pepsi. Why do you buy from Amazon or from eBay or from any other big online shop and then you start getting emails? “Hey, special offer. Hey, new product. Hey, this happening?” Why the heck are they doing that? To keep reminding you about themselves so you don't forget about them and you keep buying from them, not from somebody else.

That's what you have to do. You have to think of ways of staying in touch with your customers. Maybe that's a Facebook group maybe that's a WhatsApp group, maybe that's whatever. But you have to find ways how to creatively stay in touch with your customers so they don't forget about you so that it is easy for them to buy from you. And you have to keep reminding them about yourself. “Hey, we have a Christmas offer. Hey, there's a discount. Hey, there's a new product that came out. Hey, I just did this demonstration video. Hey, I've got these 10 tips about this.” And you keep giving value, useful information, interesting stuff, funny stuff, contest, whatever you can to keep your customers engaged. Keep making it easy for your customers to buy from you. If you don't do that, you will miss out on so many sales. It's not even funny.
