Play to WIN!

I want to talk about playing to win. What do I mean?

What I mean by that too many people, they don't play to win. Too many people are playing not to lose. They’re just playing a survival game. Like if only I can manage to pay my bills this month. It'll be fine. I'll pull through. And that's what most people are focusing on and what you focus on is what you get more of. So if you focus on survival, then you'll keep surviving. But wouldn't you like to thrive instead of surviving, but that's why you need to change your focus.

Because if you're just focusing on the survival mode, on just not losing on just not becoming the casualty then first of all, that should suck, that’s the first. But secondly, there's no fun in that. A big majority of people, they're just playing not to lose, right? They're just playing not to lose. But there's also a large group of people who actually playing to prove why they cannot win. And that's the most strange group of people to be because that group is playing to prove why they can't win. And when they don't, when something sucky happens, when they get a setback, they go, ah I told you, I told you, I'm not good enough. I told you, it's always like that in my life. I always get slapped in the face. And oh my God, that's like negative goal setting.

It's like literally you asking more of it from the universe because when people come to me like that when people come to me and go, like, everything happens to me all the time, so I'm lacking, everything just happens to me, you know why? And I go, well, things like that seem to be happening to people like you most of the time. And I know, maybe that's just insensitive, right?

But it is true, guys. If you keep complaining if you keep wilding, if you keep saying why does it always happen to me, your brain will come up with reasons, it will come out because you're an idiot, because you just said you're so and so. Like your brain will give you reasons why you're unlucky. Your brain will give you reasons why it’s always bad for you, your brain will give you reasons why you’re always in bad relationships, why you always lose jobs, why you always fail in business, and so on and so on.

If you ask for it, it's like my wife Rita, she wrote a book called Empowering Questions, because most people ask themselves disempowering questions like why am I so stupid? Why am I so unlucky? Why am I so fat? And their mind goes? Well, you ask the question, let me come up with a reason, right? And it gives you reasons and then you can grab hold of those reasons and say these are my reasons why I'm a failure. These are my reasons why I'm so broke. But at least I have a reason. Like, that's nuts, right? Instead, you need to ask yourself empowering questions. How can I win? How can I dominate this freaking thing? How can I become best? How can I be so good? They can't ignore me. How can I disrupt this whole industry? How can I disrupt this whole company that everybody starts going? What the hell is she doing? What the hell is he doing? Because like he's on another level, right? But he's not taking any casualties. He's not taking any prisoners. You know, he's just going for it. You know what I mean?

Play to win, make a decision that I'm going to freakin rip this thing apart. I'm going to be the best. Like; I'm not going to be one of the best. I'm going to be somewhere to the best but I'm going to be the best. I'm going to set the new standard. I'm going to show these guys what they've never seen in their life. I'm going to do things that people never even thought possible. You know, one of my favourite people in the history is Roger Bannister. Roger Bannister was a person who ran the four minute mile.

Now before Roger Bannister, they said it was impossible. They said if a human being run that fast, their muscles would tear apart, their ligaments would rip apart and they would basically go and fight and die, right? Like it is impossible, right? And guess what? It took one crazy guy Roger Bannister. He said, You know what? I don't care what they say. I don't care what they say. I'm going to do it. And the guy ran the four minute mile. He ran the four minute mile And guess what happened after that? Within the next 30 days? Three other people ran a mile under four minutes.

Why? Because he showed them that it's possible. Why couldn't that be you? I’m not talking about running? I'm talking about what you're doing in your business. Why couldn't you be the Roger Bannister of sales in your team? Why couldn't you be the Roger Bannister of recruiting in your team? Why couldn't you be the Roger Bannister of loving on your team? Why could you be the Roger Bannister of keeping in touch with your team, you're already taking it to the next level where people don't even think that that's possible when people don't even expect something like that.

That's playing to win that's playing to go big. So this is the beginning of the month and it's very fitting to have this topic because you have to set your goals. So what are your goals? If I look at your goals is that the goal is not to lose. Or is that the goals to win. You know, is it that big or is it is like here, because that's realistic that I can do that. But if you set your book as a realistic, then you're setting not to lose you playing not to lose, you know playing to win.

Because when you play to win, you set your goal high, you set your goal unrealistic, and you say, you know what I'm going to make it because guess what, if you aim for the stars, at least you land on the moon. But if you aim for the dustbin, then you'll end up inside. So aim high, set your goals and even better send your goals to somebody send you somebody who you respect, send your goals and your action and say this is what I want to achieve this month. This is how I'm going to do it and send it off to them.

Okay, so that's my tip for today guys, play to win, have a fantastic December. Crush it. Don't relax. You know, don't be like most people who mentally retire you know from like, middle of the month. Don't lose the momentum. You've been working so hard to get your business into momentum. Don't lose all of that in the next two weeks, because if you take like a lot of people, they mentally retire from the middle of the month until like, third, fourth fifth of January. And if you do that, it's game over. You’ve lost so much, right?

So what one of my mentors always tells me, she says, work hard while other people are relaxing. So in Christmas time, in New Years’ time, when everybody else is relaxed when everybody else is not doing the business, guess what? You have less competition. You have fewer competitors, from other companies, from other businesses.

So go and advertise, go and put posts on social media. Don't put posts on your group, go invite friends, you know, go message people because nobody else is doing it. So you have the advantage over them. You have a competitive advantage over them because most people are not doing it. And you are, you know what I mean? So do this guys do this finish strong. The way you finish this year is how you're going to start next year. So don't do a week as we finish this year, finish strong and you'll see how you're going to blast through your goals in 2020.
