People don’t know WHAT to want!
The title of this is people don't know what to want.
Now, let me explain this very often when
I'm speaking to up and coming leaders in network marketing people who are
growing their team. I say to them, well, what's one of your biggest challenges
you know what, what are you struggling with in business? And they say, well people
in my team, they're like lazy, like, they're not even lazy, but like, they
don't want anything, like they don't have any goals, they don't have any
ambition, they don't have any desire, I'm like, trying to crushing this, I'm
trying to work hard, but my team members, they’re just like half dead, they
have no ambition and I understand that.
I understand that type of thinking
because I used to be the person who would think like that, too. However, it's
not true. Nine times out of 10 it's not true that your team members don't have
ambition, but the challenges that nine times out of 10 your new team members,
they don't know what to want. What do I mean by that?
What I mean by that is
very often when new people come into the business when they join your team,
they probably joined your team because they saw you selling some products or
maybe they saw you posting something on your social media and they thought I
could sell one or two of those, that's not too difficult and that's the mind-set,
they come into the business, right? Like they come with the mind-set of selling
some products and making some extra income, right? That's all they really know
about your business, and they don't really know where it could take or what
could happen right?
If you want your team members to be more ambitious, if
you want your team members to think big and dream bigger, then guess what you
as a leader need to show them what to want. One of the things that I do with
new team members that join my team, I always do what is called on boarding call
it's like a first call what I can help them to set their expectations right and
I can really tell them that they made a great decision to become part of the
business and I give them like a getting started checklist.
And part of that
call, I actually show them some of the incentive programs. I actually show them
where this business could take them in the next two months, three months, five
months, six months, and etcetera and very often, after that call, people say,
wow, I want to hit that rank. Wow, I want to qualify for that holiday. Wow, I
want to get that car bonus. All of a sudden, they want things. All of a sudden,
they became ambitious, all why? Because I actually showed them what to want.
You know what I mean?
Not that I planted my goals into their head each and
everyone will have different ambitions and goals in life, but
sometimes people just don't know what your business could do for them. They
don't know where they could be in a couple of months. They don't know how and
what they could be earning, etcetera. So you taking them through the incentive
programs, you taking them through the marketing plan can open their mind, can give
them an idea to where they go, I want that. I want this. Yeah, I want to go for
that, you know, and all of a sudden, now you have team members who are
ambitious, who are crushing it, who are going for the goals.
Now,
there's a caveat. Because you start doing this, you'll probably hope that every
single person will go and crush in your business. That's, of course not going
to be the case. However, if you don't show the possibilities, if you don't show
the big picture, then most likely nobody will be crushing in your business. But
if you show the big picture to every single person that joins your business,
most will not go for it but those who do they will explode your business.
So
never stop showing it to people just because the last five people didn't go for
it. Keep showing people that big picture and you will hit the gold with some
whole goal. Yes, that's what I've been looking for. This is a way for me to
maximize my full potential, to really go 100% and to actually achieve something
with my life; and these are the people who will become the biggest
leaders in your business.
