Never attack a company that is going through difficult times

I want to talk about attacking companies that are going through a difficult time. Today’s title is never attack a company that's going through difficult times.

Now, this is something that I noticed quite a lot in network marketing arena. Every time there is a company that's going through difficult times, maybe they're having some lawsuits or maybe they're having some issues with products or maybe they're having some other problems or issues or whatever, you straightaway see how people from other network marketing companies as vultures attack that company and start poaching distributors, start messaging saying, “Oh, I heard your company's going through bad times, maybe you're interested in my business instead.”

That’s one of the worst things you can do because think about how you position yourself when you do that. Think about how do you come across to that person. Now, I'm not saying it's not going to work. If you do that, there's a chance that you'll recruit somebody, there's a chance that you will take a person from one company to come to your company because your company is not struggling right now, or whatever. But think about the culture that you're creating in your business. Think about the atmosphere you are creating in your business. Remember that everything that you do in your business, you are teaching other people how to do that.

So whenever you do something that is not entirely ethical in your business, whatever you do something that is a little bit on gray side, you’re teaching your team that it is okay to do that. So remember, because when your team members start doing things that are not ethical, you can't blame them, because that's what they saw being done in the organization. And whatever you do to another person, it is okay to do unto you. Treat your neighbour as thy as you would like to be treated or whatever it is. You know what I'm talking about.

So if you attack other companies when they are weak, if you poach distributors from other businesses, when that business is going through trouble, guess what's going to happen when your business goes through trouble, guess what's going to happen when your business has difficult times? Yep, other people will do exactly the same thing to you. If you do something to other businesses, then when your business goes through the same problems, guess what's going to happen? Those people are going to come after you. They're going to start poaching people from your team and you can't be mad then, you can't be angry at them, then you just have to say, “Hey, I did that. So now they have the right to do the same thing to me. I did that to other people's teams, now they have the same right to do it to my team.”

That’s why my recommendation to you is never do that. If you know some people in another company, and you know that that company is going through a difficult time right now, maybe they're having some problems with lawsuits, or maybe they're having some problems with products or maybe they're having some problems with leadership or whatever, there might be a million things, challenges that happen in network marketing, and if you know somebody in that company, instead of being like everybody else who go, “Oh, I heard your company struggling, or maybe you looking around.”

What I would do if I was you, I would also message that person. But I would message that person and say, “Hey man, I heard your company is going through difficult times right now, just wanted to let you know, I'm rooting for you. I hope everything works out. I hope your company pulls through, stay strong don't waver, keep going.” You know what I was going to do?

One; is going to show that you are much better person than most of those other people who are like vultures just waiting to grab onto somebody. But secondly, guess if in the end, it doesn't work out for that person. Guess if in the end, that company does go bust, guess if in the end, that person ends up leaving the business, guess who they're going to go to? Are they going to go to the people who said, “Oh, I heard your company is struggling, come to me,” or would they come to you because you said, “Hey, man, I hope everything works out for you. I'm here to support you. If you need any help, if you need anything, just give me a shot.” Guess who they're going to go to.

They will always going to go to the higher ethics person, they will always going to go to a person who has better values and bigger morals. So always, always, always remember that. It's how you treat other people, that's how you're going to get treated. How you treat other businesses, that is how your business is going to get treated. So my advice for you, always stay true to your values. Wrong is wrong, even if everybody's doing it and righteous right, even if nobody's doing it.
