Lesson from the legendary Lou Holtz; Don’t try to go to the TOP without these THREE pillars to SUCCESS!
I
want to share the three things that Lou Holtz shared that really, really got me
thinking and I wanted to share it with you as well because I thought, isn't it
great, because he was a football coach, but now he works with companies with,
corporate organizations, training people and helping people to get better
results.
The three pillars of success that he teaches, first one is you have
to make good choices. Whether you're in business, whether you're in life,
whether you're in relationships, you need make good choices. So because that
over time is going to build trust so people will trust you, because they see
you consistently making good choices.
The
second pillar to success he shared was to do everything to the best of your
ability, to do everything to the best of your ability because this shows
commitment to excellence. So again, whether you're in sports, whether you're in
business, whether you're in different areas of life, if you’re committed to excellence,
if you’re doing everything hundred percent, not just sort of trying to brag
your way through it, not just trying to do it however, but you always focus and
you always do it 100% to the best of your ability, then guess what? You have commitment
to excellence and again, commitment to excellence will help you in different areas
of life, it will help you especially if you're in business really can make you
stand out from the crowd when you have that quality.
And
then the third one is to show people that you care. So again, whether you are dealing
with your customers, whether you're dealing with your team members, whether
you're dealing with your company, whether you're dealing with your upline, if
you really show that you care for people, it goes a long way, and they say people
will forget what you said and done, but they will never forget how you made
them feel. And they say people don't care how much you know, until they know
how much you care.
That pillar of caring for people can really set you
apart. So if you have those three things, the trust by making good choices,
commitment to excellence by doing everything to the best of your ability, and
you show care for people, which shows love and caring for people, that will
really set you up success.
Of course, that's not the only thing that you can do in order to succeed, but
these are the three big ones from the Lou Holtz. So for me, it really made me
think, like, am I committed to excellence? Like, do I do everything to the best
of my ability? Or do I do some things just so and so? Do I always make good
choices? Because that applies to everything in your life. So like, do I make
good choices when I eat? Do I make good choices when I do business with some
people, and things like? And then the care, do I consistently show my customers
that I care? Do I show my team members that I care? Do I show my leaders that I
care? Do I show my company that I care?
Those three things are quite good to
think about and to evaluate yourself and maybe help your team to evaluate
themselves too and think how you can improve on those if you can, like maybe
you're perfect at that, but if you're not, most likely you're not, think how
you could improve at those.
That’s my training and tip for you. Hope you got value some value in this blog post, if you did, feel free to share it with other people.
