Is your social media a TOY or a MONEY MAKING MACHINE?
I
want to talk about whether your social media is a toy, or it's a money making
machine. What do I mean when I say is your social media a toy or a money making
machine?
Well, social media for a lot of people is just the way to pass the
time. It's just the way to kill some time and they say killing time is not a
homicide, it’s a suicide. What does it mean? It's your own time you're wasting.
That's what the teachers used to say.
A
lot of people are consumers on social media; they go on social media to consume
other people's content. They watch other people's posts, they watch other
people's photos, they read other people's writing, they watch other people's
videos, and they’re just there to consume the content, watch all the
advertisements as well along the way and that's pretty much it. Just as a fun
toy, just a fun thing to spend the time on. While there's another group of
people much smaller, who are there to use social media to turn it into money
making machine.
They use the social media for business and there are many
different businesses, they use social media for business, and they become not
consumers anymore, they become producers. I remember last year, we attended training
in Henderson, Nevada and Eric Worre said, “Hey, if you're serious about your
social media business game, for every piece of content that you consume, you
should create one.” What does that mean? Every photo you see on social media,
you should put a photo, every video you watch, you should put a video, and so
on. That's a bit challenging, isn't it?
Imagine
if you had to create a photo for everyone that you watch on social media.
Imagine if you had to create a video for everyone that you watch on social
media, it would require a lot more work wouldn’t it? But it would give you much
better results as well. Because only through producing content, we can start
attracting people to us, you must have heard of attraction marketing. Attraction
marketing is all about putting content out there, putting some information out
there that attracts your potential customers to you, that attracts your potential
business partners to you.
One, the question is, do you have a business that you
can promote on social media? Because most people don't, most people will have a
job and that's it. They don't have a side business that they could promote on
social media, which I think it's a mess; you need some money on the table so you
should have some sort of a side business that you can promote on your social
media wisely of course.
But
second step, then, are you promoting it? Because there's a lot of people on
social media who have their own business, but they don't do anything with it on
social media. They become the network marketing, secret agents; they do the
business, but nobody knows about it. Your social media is there to start
attracting people to you and if you use it wisely, if you use it in a clever
way, you can start attracting customers, you can start attracting business
partners, and you can start making money from your social media every single
day.
That's what I do every single day I make money from my social media. My
Facebook is not costing me, it's earning me, my Instagram is not costing me,
it's earning me, my YouTube is not
costing me it's earning me. That's what you should do with your social media.
If you want of course; maybe you're okay with money and you don't need any
extra money then you just carry on using it as a fun thing to spend your time
on. But if you want to make more money, if you want to get wealthy, then social
media can be a brilliant tool for that reason and for that purpose.
