Edification can be a very powerful tool in your network marketing business if used correctly.
Have you ever heard a saying "You can't be a prophet in your own town"? Well what it basically means is that people who we know very well find it very difficult to take us seriously when it comes to business. You see people know you as a bother, or a cousin, or nephew, or friend, or workmate and once you start doing network marketing they find it difficult to now look at you as a business expert.
However, there is a lot of potential in recruiting your friends, family, work mates and so on because they already know you, like you and trust you, therefore, there is a much bigger chance that they will join you or buy from you. so how can you bring them into your business if they would not listen to you about business? Well, thats where the EDIFICATION comes in...
You see your friends will be a lot more likely to listen attentively about your business if your sponsor or upline leader presented to them, because they don't know them they will be much more respectful and will not interrupt every two seconds. However, they do not know your sponsor or your leader. That's why you will use the edification triangle.
There is TRUST between you and your prospect (friend, family member, work mate), there is RESPECT between your prospect and your leader/sponsor and what you do before introducing your prospect to your sponsor is Edify them. You tell you prospect that your sponsor is a great leader, that they are amazing business person and has a lot of experience, that they have achieved a lot and are very successful, that they are very busy person but you managed to get couple of minutes of their time so that they could briefly speak to your prospect.
After hearing all of this your prospect will be very curious and eager to listen to what your sponsor and will take the information about your home based business much more seriously and are a lot more likely to join your team.
