How to stay compliant in your network marketing company?

With this we have Episode 666. So, because it is quite an evil number, I thought I'm going to talk about an evil of network marketing industry, the compliance. How to stay compliant, how to make sure that what you're doing is legal, what you're doing is ethical, and to make sure that your business will survive a very long time in this industry.

Network marketing like any other industry is always being regulated, is being regulated by different government bodies, by different institutions, who are trying to make sure that all of us as network marketing professionals, do our job professionally and don't do any naughty things, don't do any things that we're not supposed to do. And that's basically is called compliance.

I want to share with you three things that you should not do if you want to stay compliant in your network marketing business and if you want to make sure that your business lasts a long time, and you don't get into trouble. So the first thing that you shouldn't do is exaggerate income claims. So I know in network marketing industry, we're very excited by the income potential. We're super excited that we can earn really big income. We're super excited that we can really achieve great things.

But too often network marketing professionals or network marketing people who work in network marketing industry, they only emphasize the top earners. And that is not fair because obviously in any business, there's going to be people who make a lot of money and there's going to be people who make very little money and everybody else in between.

So we have to make sure that when we are representing our business, we're not misleading people by saying that, “Hey, it's easy, you can make millions, my buddy here is making this much money and you will make that to.” Because any income claims like that are not looked very nicely by different government institutions, by different government bodies that try to make sure that network marketing is compliant. So number one, don't exaggerate income. Always make sure that people understand how much they can earn and what they have to do in order to earn it so that it's not do nothing and become a millionaire. It's not get rich quick or anything like that. So number one is incompliance.

Number two, don't exaggerate product effects. If you're one of those people who says, “Hey, if you take this product, you're going to walk on water, your arms going to grow back and it's going to raise you from the dead.” That is not the way to go. So because most network marketing companies, they actually don't sell medicine, what they sell is food supplements, or cosmetics, or whatever. Now, those food supplements or cosmetics might have incredible effect.

But you should never state the name of your product and the name of a disease in one sentence. You should never say this cures cancer. This treats this condition because even if it's true, now some of you will say, “But it's true, but it really does it.” It's not about whether it's true or not, it's whether you can say it or not. And because most of us, we don't sell medication, we don't sell medicine, we sell food supplements or cosmetics, you are not allowed to say that thing cures anything, or that thing treats anything. So again, never exaggerate your product claims, because you will get in trouble with that over time.

And lastly, the last one, don't make it look easier than it is. So don't ever do what some people do when they say, “You don't need to sell anything. You don't need to invite anybody. You don't need to do anything and you can make melons.” If you're doing that, one; you’re actually going to be attracting all the rubbish people. You're not going to be attracting any serious people if you do that, because any serious person will look at marketing like that and go, “Nonsense.” That’s because a serious person understands to make big money, you have to put in a lot of work. But what it will attract, it will attract all the lazy people, all the people who want to get something for nothing, all the people who want to do nothing and become millionaires, good luck working with those people, because it's going to be very, very tricky.

And plus, again, you're not compliant if you do that, if you make it look easier than it actually it is, if you're not making it clear that it does require work, it does require to put in time, it does require effort in order to make money. If you're not including that if you're not making it clear, then again, you're not compliant. So if you stay away from those three things, exaggerated income claims exaggerated product claims and making it easier than it is, then you should be absolutely fine and you should be compliant, and you should be on the right side of network marketing business.
