I wanted to talk to you about how to stand out as a business
person. And that is basically to go the complete opposite than what everybody
else is doing.
So under-promise and over-deliver most people do the complete opposite. They promise the mountains to get the sale and then they under deliver, they don't even deliver what they promised. So if you want to stand out is under promise, and then over deliver. So don't promise what you can't pull off instead, say, “Hey, look, this is what I'm going to do, this is what I can do.” And then go the extra mile, then do a little bit more than they expected.
Do a little bit more than you promised and they will go, “Wow, they didn't say they're going to do this bit. They didn't say they're going to send that much. They didn't say that they're going to deliver that bit at the training. They didn't say that they're going to do this.” And it doesn't take much. Sometimes somebody buys a product from you and you just put a little sample of something else or you put a little test or something else. And then they go, “Wow, that's free, I didn't expect to get that.” It's much better than you saying, “If you buy this, then I'll put this for free.” You already told them, but do things without them expecting it and you'll see how people going to love it.
And same way if you recruiting people into your business, again, go the extra mile, do things you didn't say you're going to do. So there they go, “Ooh, wow. They didn't have to do that but they did that for me. That's awesome.” So go the extra mile because that's never crowded. There's never traffic on the extra mile, go a little bit more. So always ask yourself, what else can I do? How could I go a little bit further? How could I do a little bit of extra for my customer? How can I do a little bit extra for my team member? How can I do a little bit extra for my employer? I know everybody's job is just, “Oh, we’re broke.”
But what if you went a little bit extra mile in your job whilst you have a job? Could you get maybe a better treatment? Could you get more money? Could you get more opportunities? So how can you go the extra mile? Try to do that and you'll see how you're going to stand out from the crowd very easily. People will say, “Wow, that person is different. That person is awesome.” So that's my message for you.
That’s my training and tip for you. Hope you got value some value in this blog post, if you did, feel free to share it with other people.
