How to improve your CUSTOMER AVATAR?

I want to talk about how to improve your customer or potential business partner avatar.

First of all, what is a customer avatar? Well, that's like an ideal person that you want to be talking to, on your social media, in your marketing, in your advertising, and so on. Because, like they say things that suit everyone usually don't suit anyone. Some people say, “Well, the whole world is my market, anybody can do my business.”

Well, that may be true, but you probably have a certain group of people who are most likely to become your customers, a certain group of people who are most likely to relate to you, a certain group of people who are most likely to join your team. If you're a single mom, you’re probably going to attract more single moms or other women, than office guys. It doesn't mean that no, they would never join your team. But it just means that people relate to people who are similar to them.

When building our customer avatar or building our ideal team member avatar, we think about the type of person that would be and the traditional way to make up this avatar always used to be demographics; what is their sex? Where do they live? What do they do for a living? How much money they make? What type of family situation they're in, like their demographics to make up the picture of the person you want to talk to. That’s not bad to begin with. But if you want to take it to the next level, if you want to upgrade that customer ideal team member avatar, the next step is to think more not demographically, but psychographically. What does that mean?

Like what does that person want in their life? What are their dreams and ambitions? What are the problems they're experiencing right now? What are the barriers that are stopping them from having the things they want to have right now? This takes it to the next level because again, when you start thinking, “Okay, how would I talk to this person? What sort of marketing would I do? What sort of video or post would I write to hook that person?” Then when you know their psychology, when you think the way they think, it helps you to really improve your social media game; it really helps you to improve your marketing, because they say you should think like the fish, not like the fishermen.

Too many people, who are building their home based business, think from their own perspective, “Oh I like that, so I'm going to promote that.” But what you need to think about is what does my potential customer want to hear? What does my potential team member wants to hear? How can I show them? How can I solve their problems? How can I show them how they can get the things they want in their life? How can I show them what solutions I can provide? That is the next level of building your avatar. And again, when you identify clearly who you're talking to, then your social media game really improves and you become a lot more effective with what you say.
