How to find CUSTOMERS using Facebook groups?
I want to give you a couple of tips on how to find potential customers using
the Facebook groups and to also talk very briefly about finding
potential customers or maybe sometimes even potential business partners using
the Facebook groups.
The challenge that I find that a lot of people have is
that they get so overwhelmed with the amount of information, with the amount of
people, with the amount of groups on social media that is sort of paralyzes
them, and even though they have potential to reach to hundreds and thousands of
people potential customers and business partners, because there's just so much
noise, so much information, they get overwhelmed and then they end up doing
nothing.
And
like even today, we had a training with our Russian speaking team, over 200
people on the zoom and a couple of people said, like, “How do I find people on
social media? And when you think about it, it sounds crazy, isn't it? Like
Facebook, you'll get billion people on Facebook and people saying, “How do I find
people on Facebook.” But what they actually mean is how to separate them out,
like how to sort the crowd to get the actual people that you want. Because
there's a billion people on Facebook, but most of them are interested in your
product.
Most of them are interested in your business opportunity. So how to
find the ones we're interested, how to get this crowd of people and get
somebody to raise their hand to say, “Hey, I'm interested in what you've got to
offer. Hey, I'm interested to know more about what you do.” So I'm going to
share today a little quick strategy that you can use, that I hope you will find
very useful when looking for potential prospects.
Step
one would be to join some groups. And again, think about where do my potential
customers live on Facebook? Like, if you're trying to sell health supplements
or food supplements, then where would your potential customer be on Facebook?
Well, likely they would be in like health groups, diet groups, food groups, and
things like that. If you want to sell a cosmetic product, then maybe your
potential customer would be in beauty groups, in women's groups, in cosmetics
groups, in whatever.
So you need to first of all think,
where would my customers be at? And maybe you're targeting like, moms, so then
moms groups would be a great place to go. Maybe you're looking for guys, then
men's groups and things like that. So step one would be to actually join some
groups, preferably large ones, so you have more people in that group that would
potentially might have your potential customers in there. So that's step one.
Step
two then and that's the important bit that not a lot of people do is to search
the group using the keywords. So whether you’re on Facebook on your computer,
or you're on Facebook on your phone, when you go into a group, you have a
search box. If it's on computer, on the left side, you have the search box. If
you're on your phone, usually at the top, you have the search field. And
basically when you put type something in that search, and you hit enter, then
it searches that group. It doesn't search the entire Facebook, he only searches
that group for that keyword.
So imagine you're in the moms group, you join moms
group and that group has 150,000 women. Now let's say you have a weight loss
product, now, would all of those 150,000 mums be interested in your weight loss
product? Most likely not, like majority of them probably wouldn't be interested
in your weight loss. So how can you know now who out of all of these 150,000
women in this group would be interested in my product?
Well, you search the
group for a keyword, so you might put in weight loss, or baby weight, or
whatever you put in keywords and then most likely, if that group is active,
it's big, it has a lot of people, then you will find posts that are related to
that. So the post will have a keyword because somebody else might have
mentioned about, “Hey, guys, do you have any tips about losing weight.”
What you do, you look for that key, you search that keyword, and it gives you
the posts that are related to that keyword, and then you can look on the post.
So let's say somebody posted something about weight loss, about losing weight
in that group, and then if it's a big group, probably it's got loads of likes,
loads of comments. This is your target market now.
So you don't want to message
all 150,000 women in that group, you want to message women who like that post,
who comment on that post because that means weight loss and that particular
feed, that particular topic is relevant to them, is interested to them. So
that's who you target. Let's say you have incredible face serum that helps with
acne. So again, you might go into the same moms group, or you might go into
beauty group, or you might go into different rooms again, that might have loads
of women in it.
And again, you might search the keyword acne and see what posts
come up, and you might find posts that are to do with that, maybe somebody
already discussed acne, maybe somebody already gave some tips. So again, you go
into those posts that people have liked and commented on, and these are the
people who you want to reach out in private in massager, add them to your
friends, then message them and say, “Hey, I saw you interacted with that post
about acne, is there by any chance you would like to learn more about how to
reduce acne?”
So
then you're not just doing what they call spray and pray where you just spray
the information all over social media and praying somebody sees that, instead,
you finding the hot button. So, the hot button is for that person, acne is a
hot button because they have interacted with the post, they’re following those posts,
they are interested in that because probably they have an issue with that or
maybe they have a daughter with that or whatever. So this will help you to find
the right people out of the sea of an ocean of all the people that you have on
social media.
