How to CONQUER the fear of Live video?

I want to talk about how to defeat the fear of doing a live video. So how do you conquer this fear of live video because there's so many people who have the fear of public speaking and then that fear transfers into doing live video. They’re just scared of doing live video because what if I mess up? What if I say the wrong thing? What if people laugh at me? What if I get criticized? What if I get haters and so on and there's so many reasons why not to do something? And a lot of people know that live videos could help their business. They know that successful people in this industry do that, but they are scared to start doing it because of all of these things that are stopping them. Well, there's few things that you can do to reduce or remove this fear of live videos.

So firstly, you need to understand that no one video is going to change your life or your business. Meaning that it doesn't matter how great video you do or how bad video you do, that one video is not going to change anything. What's going to change your life in your business are hundreds of videos and thousands of videos. Once you've done loads of them, that's what's going to really raise your influence, that's what's going to attract customers to you and so on and so on. So, if you do one and you mess up doesn't really matter because the other hundred will be okay. So that's one thing to take into consideration that not everybody will watch that one video where you messed up something.

Secondly, only you know if you messed up because nobody else knows what you were supposed to say on that video. So even if you mess up something, if you forget to say something, if you say something out of order, nobody else knows how it was supposed to be only you. Most people wouldn't even notice that you messed up. Now what helps in order to reduce the mess ups is to have some sort of a note of what you're going to talk about.

But instead of just typing the text of what you're going to talk about, what I would recommend is just to have bullet points. Point one say about this, point two say about that, point three say about that. So this way, when you're doing your live video, you can quickly glance and go, “Okay, point two is this.” Talk for a few minutes about point two, glance, “Oh, point three is this.” And talk about that. So this way, you don't lose your train of thought, and your video is much smoother and easier to deliver.

Also think about the topics that you would like to talk about in advance. So instead of you worrying and panicking every day, what will I talk about today? What is it that I'm going to say? If you sit down get a notebook and you plan your videos like the next 20 topics, 30 topics 40 topics 50 topics. So even if you do a video every day, you don't have to worry for the next 50 days, because you have the topics in advance. So then you just sit down, bring your notebook, open it up, okay, today's topic is this, let's talk about that. So it makes your life again easier because you don't have to panic every day thinking where to get something to talk about. And this way, then you deliver a better presentation, a better video.

And finally, you need to know that the best way to overcome this fear is of course, by doing it. Everybody's worried at the beginning. Every time somebody goes on a stage for the first time, they always feel the butterflies in the belly. And live videos might be similar, when you first few times when you do your live videos, you might be a little bit worried. You might be a little bit nervous, but it’s okay. If you keep doing it, then that fear will start reducing and reducing and reducing and reducing to where you feel totally fine. Now finally, the last option which you can use if you want on Facebook, before you go live, you can actually select an option, only me.

So the chances are your posts right now are visible to public or they are set to friends. So all of your posts are visible to either the whole world, the public, or your friends. But you can actually change that publicity setting into only me, which means you set up your phone, you hit live, but nobody's seeing it. Only you see that because it's set to only me. And once you've done your live, if you're happy with it, you change the publicity setting into public after you finished it. And it will look like you did a live but actually nobody saw it live. People only saw the recording of it. So that's a quick like a cheat in order for you to get started if you're a little bit worried, because if you did the video and you messed up, you can always then delete it and nobody saw it because you set it to only me.
