Don’t send the presentation until you have scheduled a Follow Up
I
wanted to talk about not sending your presentation until you have scheduled a
follow up.
Most people will get so happy if somebody on social media says, “Yeah,
I'll take a look at your business. Yeah, I will be open.” That they send the
presentation right away, but if somebody says, “Yeah, I'm interested, yeah, I'm
open.” And you send the presentation right away, how do you know when to follow
up? Do you message them right away? Or do you message the next day? Or do you
wait 48 hours? Or do you wait a week? What’s the system there? So I want to
suggest to you to use a better system. And a better system is when you schedule
a follow up before you send the presentation.
So let's say I'm prospecting on
social media, and somebody says, “Yeah, I wouldn't be open, I would take a look
at your business.” I would go. “Great. I have a video that is only 12 minutes
long that explains how our business works and how you could make money with our
business. How soon could you watch the video?” So what if a person says, “Well,
I can watch it right away?” I go, “Great. So I'll send you the video now and I
will call you, I will ring you, I will message you in 13 minutes, or in 15
minutes, right?
As soon as they watch the video, we can speak about it right? If they say well,
“I could watch it tomorrow.” Now go, “Great, what time tomorrow?” “Well around
10 o'clock.” “Awesome. Here's the video. I'll give you a ring tomorrow after 10.”
You know what I mean? So this is what you will do, you’re actually scheduling your
follow up before you send the video. So this way now the person knows to expect
your call after they have watched the video after they consume the information
that you sent. So it's no longer surprise when you messaged them or when you
call them at that particular time because they’re expecting it because you
already told them you will be in touch when you send them the information.
Whereas if you don't say that, if you just send the information and then start
following up then it can be annoying, then it can be a nuisance, then it can be
unexpected, you know what I mean? So always schedule your follow up before you
send the information and this way you will be more professional, you can then
take your diary out write down call Mary at nine o'clock tomorrow or call or
message Peter and blah, blah, blah so this will you get more organized, you get
more professional and then this will you know who to follow up and you know
where your business is going make sense?
