Today I wanted to talk about not falling in love with potential.
What I mean by that? Well, I mean, you should not fall in love with potential in business. Because it's so easy to do. It's so easy to look at somebody and go, “Oh, my God, this person has so much potential they could do so well. They could achieve so much in my business, they could earn so much money, they could bring so many more people in the business they could be superstars, wonderful.”
Unfortunately, most people that you will look at like that, they don't want to do it. They don't want to succeed; they don't want to achieve results. They don't want to even do your business.. So instead of falling in love with potential, which is cheap, potential is cheap. Almost every single person that you will come across, they have huge potential but they are not using it instead, fall in love with hunger.
Look for people who are hungry for better life, look for people who are hungry to change something, look for people who are hungry to earn more money, look for people who are hungry to do something in their life. And these are the people that you want to invest your time and effort in. These are the people that you want to train in your business. These are the people that you want to work with, because they are hungry to do something, they have a desire, they have the willingness to do something.
But people, who have potential, guess what, every other person out there has a potential, every other person could do the business but the fact is, they're not hungry. They're not going to use that potential. So don't fall in love with potential because potential is cheap, everybody has it. Instead, look for hunger. Look, for people who are hungry, that's expensive. That's rare. Very rarely do people have the real hunger to do something. Very rarely do people have a real ambition to change something in their life, very rarely.
I’m not one in a million but not -- more people do not want to change anything in life, more people are too lazy to do anything, more people are compliant with where they are. There are very few people who have the desire to have a better life and they’re prepared to do what it takes.
Because guess what, everybody would like more money. Everybody would like to live in a better house. And everybody would like to drive a better car. But not everybody are prepared to do what it takes. Not everybody is ready to go and change their life, to go and do the activities, to be consistent, to be persistent at it, and to go in spite of other people criticising them, in spite of other people not supporting them, in spite of them having to go out of their comfort zone. Very few people are prepared to do that.
So look for hunger when you’re talking to a potential prospect that could potentially join your business, ask yourself a question, is this person really hungry? Are they prepared to do that or do they say things like, “Oh, so how much work with I have to do well, so for how long? I will have to do it before I get my millions?” If you start hearing those things, probably the person is not hungry. Probably they're not yet ready. But if you speak to a person and they just go, “When can I start? When can I start talking to people, how can I do this?” you see that they are hungry, these are the people you want to spend your time with. These are the people you want to invest your effort in because you'll get a lot of reward from that, you know your time is very finite, it's very limited.
So you want to make sure that you invested with the right people because if you lose some money, you can always earn the money back but if you lose time it's gone forever. You can't get it back. So if you invest three months into trying to teach somebody about the business and mentor them and then they turn out to be not serious, they turn out not hungry, then guess what you just wasted three months of your life and you have to start over again with another person.
Hope this makes sense and I hope you got value from this blog post, if you did, feel free to share it with other people and I’ll see you all at the top!
Yours in success
