Dabbler-Try’er vs Doer-Commit’er
Are
you not getting results in business? I will tell you one secret that might just
change your mind.
Some people don't get results in business right away, which
is actually most people, but there's a big difference between two groups of
people. There is one group of people that come into network marketing, that
come into home based business and they are the dabblers or the try’ers, they
say, “Well, I will try this business.” So they come into the business and they
say, “Well, I'll try it. I'll give it three months, I'll dabble a bit.” And most
of the time, it doesn't work out for those people. Most of the time, they won't
get the results not because the business doesn't work, not because the product
doesn't sell, not because people don't join the business, it's simply because
of their attitude, they are actually radiating that energy to people where I'm
trying. Because what does it mean to try?
The best example I’ve ever seen is
where I give somebody a pen and I say, “Well, try and drop this pen, try and drop
it.” And person takes it first and drops it. I go, “No, no, no, no, you dropped
it. Don't drop it. Try and drop it.” So then they are holding the pen, they’re
not dropping it. So I'm saying, “Well, now you’re not dropping it. So try to drop the pen.” How
can you try to drop the pen? Can you try to drop the pen? No, you either drop
it or you don't. You can't try to drop the pen. So how are you going to try a
network marketing business?
What
it means to me, that I'm not going to do it or I'm going to quit, I just don't
know when, that's what try means. So if you came into network marketing with
the idea that I'm going to give it a go, that I'm going to try, I'm going to
see what happens, then you’re already setting yourself up for failure because
you haven't committed, you haven't made a decision. In the old days, when they
used to conquer an island, they would come with the boats and they would burn
the boats. Why on earth would they do that? So that they either conquer the
island or they die trying, but there's no going back. There's no abort.
That's
what my favorite animal is a rhino because when rhino makes the decision to
charge, it does not abort, it'll go all the way. So the first group of people are dabblers.
They come in to try, they’re playing hockey pokey, one foot in and one foot
out. It’s just not going to happen for them.
The
second group are the doers, are the committers. So the people who have come in
and they're committed, they go, “Well, whatever amount of time it's going to
take me, I'm just going to do it.” Because if you come with a mindset, Oh, give
it three months, or give it six months, then you're limiting yourself. You're
setting yourself up for disappointment and for failure. What if it does take
three years? What if it does take five years for you to achieve financial
freedom with network marketing?
My question to you is, if not this, then what? If
not network marketing, then what are you going to use to make 5000 a month,
10,000 a month, 20,000 a month? What else can you do to make that type of
money? Tell me because I don't know. I don't know what you could do to make
that type of money. And even if you could get to that type of money in a job,
which is really unlikely, once you got to that income, is there a chance that
you can become a CEO of a company or you can become a director of the company
and once you got to 5000 a month, 10,000 a month you could come to the company
and say, “You know what, guys, I'm just going to relax now, but you keep paying
me the money.” Is that even possible? Like go to your workplace and go, “Well,
how could I get to the top level income in this job, in this company and then
retire and you guys just keep paying me full time income?” They’ll think you
insane, they’ll think you lost it, they’ll think that cheese has slid of your cracker,
but in network marketing, that's what you building, you’re you building a
source of passive income.
So
once you've built it to 1000 to 2000 to 5000 a month, to 10,000 a month, to
50,000 a month, you can take your foot off the gas, you can put it into a
cruise control and your business keeps paying you the money because you've
built it up, because you've built up the business, because you’ve built up the
team, it keeps paying you. What other option do you have to make that type of income
in this way? Let me know because I don't know of one. So the question, if not
this, then what?
So when you have your bad days, when you’re either feeling
disappointed, when you are feeling frustrated that you haven't achieved your
results, and look, I level would you. If you ever feel the feeling that I'm not
where I was hoping to be in my life at this time, I haven't made as much
progress as I would have hoped to make in my life, I'm not yet making the money
that I was hoping that I would make in my life. I know what you're feeling. I
level with you. I've been there too. I know it and it sucks, but you have to
remind yourself then, “Well, if not this, then what am I going to use to build
financial freedom?” Are you going to buy a franchise for 200,000 pounds,
500,000 pounds, a million pounds, I don't know, maybe you've got some rich
parents, some inheritance coming in.
Are you going to write the next Harry
Potter or become the next superstar model or actor? What is your plan? If not
this, then what? Are you going to go back to working for seven pounds an hour,
10 pounds an hour for them of your life and you want to tell me you'll be happy
doing that for the rest of their life? I don't think so because like Les Brown
says, “Once your mind expands, it can never go back to its original dimension.” So
once you've seen the potential of network marketing, once you seen the
potential of being an entrepreneur, there's no freaking way you can go back to
work for 10 pounds an hour and be happy for the rest of your life.
You need
to understand this, you need to think about this and when you have somebody
else in your business going through those tough days or tough weeks, or
sometimes even tough months, you just need to remind them, if not this, then
what? What man, you said you have these dreams, you said you want to get your
Aston Martin, you said you want to get your yacht, you said you want to travel
the world, you said you want to buy that house? How are you going to do it in
other way? How are you going to get to that type of income in any other way and
have the freedom to do those things that you wanted to do? So that's the
message for today, are you a try’er and a dabbler or are you a doer and a
committer? Are you a person that commits to it and says, “Hey, I'll give it 12
months but if it doesn't work out in 12 months, I'll give it another 12 months
and then another 12 months, I'll give it until I get the results.” Because you
have to wrap your brain around it, you have to wrap your brain around it.
There’s
a guy who now makes over $2 million a year network marketing and the first 450
people said no to him, the first 450 people that he spoke to said no. How many
of you would go for 450 no's without a single yes and still keep going, he did,
now he's making two million a year. Was it worth it? I think it was. There's a
lady that's been in network marketing for 17 years and in 17 years she made
$3,000, not every month, in the whole of 17 years she made $3,000. A lot of you
would like, that’s actually minus because the amount it costs to buy products
and to go to events, definitely she lost a lot of money. After 17 years, she
became a million dollar earner and now she's making million dollars a year.
If
you keep doing your job that you're doing, is there any chance that after 17
years in your job, whether you're a teacher, whether you are a nurse, whether
you're whatever you do, is there any chance that you could do your job for 17
years and then they start paying you million dollars a year? But imagine if she
quit at year 15, she could have said, “Oh my gosh, wasted 15 years of my life
on this business, never worked out.” But because she kept going, because she
kept sticking to it, now she's a million dollar earner. I don't know how long
is going to take for you, maybe for you going to be three months, maybe for you
going to be six months, maybe a year, maybe two, maybe three, maybe five, but
if not this, then what? What else you're going to do to make 50,000 a month, what
else you going to do to drive a Ferrari, what else you're going to do to buy
that 15,000 square foot house, what else you going to do to travel the world? I
don't know, get a job? I can't see that working out that well. So that's my
message for today.
