Commitment is stronger than Creativity

I want to talk about commitment versus creativity.

When it comes to building your business, when it comes to showing up on your social media, when it comes to working with your team, when it comes to doing pretty much anything in your life, it will all be down to your commitment.

Now you see, if you're not committed very much, then you will say, “Oh, I can't think of anything to talk about on my video today.” If you're not very committed, you'll say, “Oh, I don't feel like talking to my team members today.” If you're not very committed, you'll say, “Oh, I don't feel like going to the gym because it's raining outside.” You’re basically going to blame the lack of creativity, or the lack of inspiration to do something.

When you truly commit to something, then whether you're creative or not, whether you have an idea or not, makes no difference. Because you committed to it, and you go and do it anyway. So that's something that I use for my videos.

Like I've been doing a video every day for the last 600 or so days, and it has nothing to do with I feel like it or not, whether I’m in the mood to do a video or not, whether I feel creative today or not. I know that a video has to be done every single day. And usually I do two, three or more videos a day. Like today, this is my fourth video that I'm doing online. Sometimes I do five, sometimes I do six in a day. And whether I feel like it or not, whether the weather is good or not, whether I'm in the mood or not, has nothing to do with whether I'm going to do it or not, I'm going to do it anyway because that's what I committed to. That's what I committed to myself that I'm going to be doing this every single day, or I'm going to be doing this for my team.

So when you truly commit to doing something, whether that's producing content online, or working with your team, or exercising or diet or whatever it is, once you truly commit, then creativity is not important because you just make it happen. You know that it has to happen. You will come up with something to talk to. If you don't come up, just press play and say, “Hey, I don't know what to say today, whatever.” You have to come up with something because you committed to it.

Same way with working with your team, guess what, in 10 years that I've been doing home based business, do you think every single day I feel like working with my team? Do you think every single day I feel like doing the things that I do? Of course not. A lot of the days, I don't feel like it. But it has nothing to do with whether I'm going to do it or not. The fact that I don't feel like it is not an excuse for me not to do it. The fact that I don't feel like it is not a good enough reason to stop doing it.

Commitment is stronger than creativity. Commitment is stronger than feeling like it. If you require to feel like it, if you're required to feel inspired, then you're just not committed. You're just not serious about growing your business. That's all it is, because when you truly commit rain or shine, snow, whatever, you feel bad, you got out of bed on the wrong foot, somebody has hated on you makes no difference. You get up and you show up. That's what committed people do. And that's what I wish you to do as well.
