I want to talk about consistency and commitment. So why did I choose to talk
about commitment and consistency today?
Well, today marks a very, very special day. If you look, earlier on today, I shared a video which was episode 01 of financial freedom TV. So it's been exactly one year since I made a decision to do a Facebook live every single day. Pretty cool, isn't it? So for the last year, I went live every single day with a different topic, with a different idea, with a different training, with a different suggestion, with a different tip, all in order to help you but at the same time to also help me to develop and learn etcetera, and to learn how to put my ideas across etcetera. It's been a year since I made that decision. Now, the reason why I want to talk about that is not to pat myself on the back and go, “Well then Gediminas, you've been doing Facebook live videos every single day for a year.” I mean, it's pretty cool to do that but that's not why I'm doing this blog post.
The reason why I'm doing this video is because it amazes me how most people are inconsistent, how most people are not committed. Like, first of January, people make goals and they make commitments that I will change my life, I will build a huge business, I'll do this and two free months later, they’re already giving up, they’re already giving up on their dreams, they’re already giving up on their family, they’re already giving up on whatever ambitions and causes they wanted to contribute. And for me, I cannot comprehend that because for me, somebody who three months ago was saying that, “Oh my gosh, I'm going to kill it. I'm going to change the world.
I'm going to impact the societies. I'm going to do all of this.” And then three months later, the same persons goes, “Ah, no. It's a bit hard. It's a bit difficult. So I'm not going to do that anymore. Or I didn't get the results right away.” It's just most people are so impatient, they’re so impatient, they want everything to happen right away. Like they don't have any degree of delayed gratification of working towards something and being patient for that. When I first made a decision to do these Facebook Lives every single day, the idea was that I wanted to build a community, a tribe, a following, to provide value to people and to get to a point where one day, my videos will be watched by thousands of people and guess what?
I've been doing a video every single day for a year, and I still don't get thousands of views. Maybe a few of my videos got like 1000 views or more. But I've been doing this for a year guys, every single day. And most people, they do free videos, they don't get any recruits, they don't get any hundreds of views and they go, “Oh, it's not working. Let me try something else.” They do that for two and a half days, “Ah. That's not working either let me do something else.” And they’re just jumping from one thing to another or they’re just giving up on things and it's just soul crushing to watch it.
The idea is that whatever you decide to do, it doesn't really matter, like I train business. I teach people how to become entrepreneurs. I teach people how to build a home based business, how to get into network marketing, and become successful and make money but that might be not your cup of tea, and that's totally cool. But I would guess it doesn't really matter what field you choose to become successful. You maybe you want to become a famous artist, you maybe you want to become a great sports person. Maybe you want to become a great business person, a great coach, great personal development was whatever it is, it's going to take some time. It's going to take some commitment and some discipline.
Otherwise, you just can't expect to get those results. Like if you read any biography of really successful people, if you interview any successful sports people, business people, actors, artists, painters, singers and so on, I promise you, you won't find an easy story anywhere, you won't find an overnight success. They say it takes many nights to become an overnight success. So if you expect to be there by the end of the week, isn't going to work like that. You're just wasting your time, you’re setting yourself up for failure by having those types of expectations because if you expect to succeed in no time, if you expect something for nothing, if you expect for it to be easy, then you are setting yourself up for failure. You’re setting yourself up for disappointment.
You can only be disappointed if you have planned to be disappointed because if you don't set those up expectations, if you go, “Well, I'll work until I get there, I'll do whatever it takes. Even if I have to work for the next two, three, four or five years, until I get the results.” Then you can't be disappointed. You can't be broken down because you haven't set yourself up for that failure. You haven't set yourself up for that disappoint that it has to happen by the end of the week, if it doesn't die, I quit. If you do that, then you’re sabotaging yourself, you’re already saying to yourself that I will quit if it doesn't happen.
But like when me and my wife started building a home based business, we made a vision board. And the first thing we stuck to our vision board was a little post it note that said, only losers give up. And that's what we would see every single morning when we get up on our vision board and we would remind ourselves, we're not giving up. No way. And there were hard days, there were tough days, there were tough weeks, even months, but we just kept going because we knew that only losers give up you know, and we will not losers for sure.
So when I decided to do these videos every single day, guess what? I made the same decision. I didn't set myself up for failure. I didn't set up myself for disappointments. I didn't say, “Well, well, if nobody joins my business by the end of three months, then I'm going to stop doing these videos.” No, I said, I'm going to do so many videos, that people will flood to me, I'll do so much content, that people will know who this bold Lithuanian guy is.
I get people joining my business and you know why these people join my business? Not because I'm such a great sponsor. Not because I'm such a smart guy. Not because I'm the greatest, whatever, you know why they join me, because I'm out there. Because they Google something, and they find my videos. They Google my company, and they find my videos, they Google network marketing, they find my videos. So the only reason why they come to me is not because I'm better than you. It's not because I'm smarter that you, not because I'm prettier.
Well, maybe because I'm pretty. The only reason why they join me and not you is because I'm bothered to spend five minutes a day to hit Facebook Live, go, “Hey guys.” Do my little thing and then press stop, and then put that video on Facebook, and then put that video on YouTube. You know what I mean? It doesn't take that much. It doesn't take that long. It's not that difficult to do, but you just have to do it. That's what sets you apart from everybody else, because everybody else is just talking, but they're not doing. If you want to stand out, just start doing things.
Commitment, consistency. So you start doing things and then you're consistent with it. Don't do a video and do nothing for three months. Don't do a little post, motivational post and then nothing for three weeks. Be consistent with it. Make a plan. I'll do a video every day. I'll do a video three times a week. I'll do a video once a week. I'll do motivational post once a day or once a week. Make up your own plan, make up your own DMO. Do whatever you want, but have a strategy and stick to it more than bloody three days because it just insane if you expecting to get those results without putting in the effort because everybody can do a video for three days. Everybody can do something for two weeks, but that's why most people never make it because they're not consistent enough. They don't stay committed long enough.
When I first started learning about network marketing, one of the best lessons I picked up was from Eric Wore. And he told the story about him when he first started in network marketing. And he went to the first event and he approached like the top, top person in his company and he said, “Well, what's the secret of network marketing?” And that person felt sorry for him. So that person said, “Look, I'll show you what's the secret.” And that person took a piece of paper and said, “Look, imagine this is a room, a conference room.” And the person drew a line in half and he said, “Look, in six months time, we're going to have another conference and a half of this room, not going to come back. They would have quit by then.
The room will still be filled by new people. But half of people who are here today will quit by the next conference, but the other half who didn't quit, they'll come back to the next conference and they will make be making double. But guess what's going to happen in another six months, half of those people will quit because they didn't make a million. And new people will fill up the room, but the other quarter that remained, now they're making four times amount of money.
But guess what happens in another six months. Half of that quarter will quit again, but the remaining part will be making eight times more money.” And he kept crossing it out, crossing it out as people keep quitting, keep quitting, keep quitting and by the end of it, you're on the stage. You're on the stage in front of those, all those people with the big cheque making the money. So he said, “You know what's the secret? Just keep at it, don't quit.” And he said, “I understood. It was clear to me that I can outlast anybody. I can outlast everybody in this business.” I've been in network marketing for nine years and this is my first company. Like I've seen people in those nine years, I've seen people change like 10 companies and I'm still with the first one. Why? Because I'm going to outlast everybody. Everybody will quit before me. And I'll be the one on the stage with a massive cheque.
Same with the videos, same with the pictures, same with the post, same with anything you do. If you keep doing long enough, you will become the top 1% of 1% because most people are not patient enough. Most people will quit way too early. And that's my advice for you. Make a commitment and then stay consistent. Keep doing it every single day. You’ll see, you will out earn everybody, you will out build everybody, you will outwork everybody, you will be 1% of 1%, the company will be calling you, the leaders will be calling you saying how amazing you are. And all you did just stayed the course, just kept doing what you need to be doing. That's all and you'll be saying, “Oh my gosh, everybody's congratulating me.” And all I'm doing just what I said I'll do a year ago, two years ago, three years ago, it will blow your mind. So that's my wish for you.
