Best use of your time as a LEADER

Today’s topic is the best use of your time as a leader. So if you're in network marketing, if you're in a home based business, and if you're recruiting and building a team, then you are a leader. So what's the best way to use your time because you don't have unlimited amount of time, you have a limited time, especially if you're doing this business part time, you have a full time job, then you only have few hours a day to actually do this business. And if you spend most of that incorrectly, then hey, you're slowing down your own progress in the business. So I'm going to give you a couple of tips today that hopefully will help you to really, really make sure that you’re using your time very effectively and to make more progress in your business.



So number one is how to correct somebody who done something wrong or was doing something incorrectly. Now, a poor use of your time would be to call this individual personally and to give them a lecture or a lesson about how they doing something wrong and how they should fix it. That would be a poor use of your time. Unfortunately, very many leaders do that all the time. They speaking to people individually and talking about things they do wrong, or they need to improve.

What's the better use of your time is to train everybody in your team on that thing. So let's say you see one team member do something incorrectly, do you think they're unique? Do you think they are the unicorn, the only individual who does that? No, probably half of your team is doing that. So why not, instead of just calling this one person and spending a half an hour explaining them how to do that thing correctly, why not do a training for your whole team with our topic. This way, the person who’s doing it incorrectly, hopefully we'll see that training, but then another hundred people will see that training too and this way, hey, maybe you just fixed a bunch of problems in your team with one training instead of doing one individual speech.

The second thing is how to answer questions. Now again, you will as a leader, inevitably, you have team members calling you and saying, “Hey, Tom, I have a question, how do I add this thing to my basket in the online shop?” And you go, “Okay, let me walk you through this.” And you spend half an hour speaking to this one team member explaining to him how to use the online shop or how to use the catalogue or how to use a product or whatever right? Now that is a poor use of your time as a leader. Because again, like we said, you have a limited amount of time. How would you better use that time? When a team member calls you with a question like that, let's say they call you and say, “Well, how can I put my Facebook Live video on YouTube?”“Good question, Tom. I'm not going to explain it to you. But I'm going to do a video that you can watch and learn. And then you can share it with everybody else.”

So instead of answering that question, you go, “Hey, actually, I'm not going to answer that question right away. What I'm going to do right now, I'll do a quick video so that you can watch it and learn how to do that. And you can share with a bunch of other team members.” Why would you do that? Because the chances are, if one team member asked that question, and you spend half an hour explaining it to them, I bet you somebody else will call you with the same question and you're going to go, “Oh my God I have to explain this all over again.”

Well, you wouldn't have to if you recorded a video, right? This is one of the reasons why I eight years ago, decided to start my YouTube channel and started recording videos, because I just wanted to use my time more effectively. So now when a team member calls and goes, “Well how do I create the referral link?” I go, “Hey, one second, let me send you a YouTube video.”“Well, how do I use the online show?” “No problem. Let me send you a YouTube video.”

So I do the video once. And that answers that question for ever. For every single team member who will ever ask me that one question, you know what I mean? So using the videos, you can save hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of hours of explanation to people individually. It is unbelievable, right? So these two things if you only do these two things, when you want to correct one team member, do training for the whole team. And when you want to answer a question, do a video and share it with the whole of your team. You'll see how much more you'll be able to achieve with your time and how much more free time you will have because people will just learn to use the resources that you produce.
