Are you trying to get LUCKY?

I want to talk about trying to get lucky. The title of this blog is are you trying to get lucky.

There's so many people in network marketing, there's so many people in home based business arena, who are trying to get lucky, like, “Oh, I'm just trying to get a break. I'm just trying to get some luck in this business.” And, hey, if you've been trying to get lucky in network marketing for a while, let me ask you a question. How is that going? Some people do get lucky, but some people win lottery too. Does that mean you're going to win one too? Not necessarily. Most people who try to get lucky end up losing, end up not getting lucky.

What would be a better solution to this? Trying to become a pro instead. If you want to go that route of trying to get lucky, maybe I'll just get lucky. Maybe I'll recruit a superstar. Maybe I'll just like somehow opportunity will arise where I'll get lucky, go for that, by all means rock and roll if you want to go that route. My advice for you much bigger chance of success is if you start to become a professional, instead of trying to get lucky, why don't you go, “Well, how can I learn to be better at this thing? How can I start studying and become better at sales, better at recruiting, better at leadership, better at influencing, better at communication?”

Because if you start studying that, if you start investing in yourself and you get better and you get professional, guess what, you’ll get lucky, you’ll get lucky all the time. Because now you've got the skill that is actually helping you to get the result instead of just trying to widget somehow. And that's not going to work. Most of the time, it's just isn’t going to work like that.

Good old Jim Rohn used to say, don't ask for it to be easier, ask for you to get better. If you want things to change, you have to change. If you want things to get better, you have to get better. That's the solution. That's the way to get lucky guys. Hard work beats talent all the time. So if you want to get lucky in your network marketing business, stop playing around with it. Stop toying with it. Stop just having it as a hobby. Start looking at it seriously. Studying it and applying what you learning. I remember the story where somebody told that their friend had a Rolex watch. The friend had a Rolex watch and he comes out of the bathroom and he sees his three year old daughter holding the watch and banging it against the kitchen floor. That’s like a 30,000 pound watch. It's an expensive watch. The guy obviously goes, grabs the watch, takes it away from the kid, but the kid doesn't know that the watch is worth so much. The kid doesn't know that the watch is so valuable. For the kid, it’s just the thing that he can bang to the floor.

A lot of people treat network marketing like that. They've got a business that it's a Rolex watch of a business. It could give them such a great profit. It could change their life completely. It could extremely, extremely make their life much better, but they're treating it like that kid. They’re just banging it against the wall because they’re not treating it seriously, because they're not studying it, because they're not investing time in themselves and in their business. My wish for you is stop trying to get lucky and start becoming a professional and you will get lucky in that way guaranteed.
