Today I wanted to share with you a very, very important training because guess what, if you're in network marketing over time, there will be days, sometimes there will be weeks and there might be even months when you feeling down, when you’re disheartened, when you’re disappointed, when you're not getting the results you like to get and so on and so on and so on.
What can you do and what should you do when you have those moments, when you have those days where nothing seems to be going right, when nothing's going according to your plans, when you’re expecting something to happen, but it didn't happen and all of those things that happen, what to do, because the worst thing you can do is do nothing because when you're down, it's the easiest time to quit. It's the easiest time to give up. And that's the last thing I want you to do. The last thing I want you to do is to give up and stop in your business, because that's is the only way to fail in business is to stop because if you don't stop if you keep going, then guess what, you're going to get the results. So the worst thing you can do is stop and the easiest way to stop in business is when you are down, when you’re having bad feelings, when you're having bad emotions.
Number one, the first thing and this is in no particular order. I'd recommend you to do if you're feeling down is do personal development. Whenever I go somewhere far away, and I might have an appointment, like I used to drive to London or whatever, hour, two hours, three hours and you have a meeting and maybe you did a meeting and nobody joins your business and nobody buys any of your products, etc., you might be feeling down that, “Oh my gosh, I just drove all the way here. I wasted the time and the petrol and everything.” So you come out quite deflated, you come out quite down after that meeting. Every time I used to have a meeting like that, as soon as I get into my car, I’d start playing personal development, I’d start playing my good old Jim Rohn, or Zig Ziglar or Tom Hopkins or Tony Robbins or Brian Tracy and by the time I get home, guess what, my spirits have gone from really low to high because I don't allow that negativity to hang around, I start pumping positivity into my brain and it defeats the negativity, by the time I get home in an hour or two hours, I'm already, “Hey, I'm ready to conquer the world again tomorrow and nothing can stop me!”
Number two is speak to your sponsor or your mentor because again, very often a situation that looks for you like an end of the world and it looks like you want to give up and it looks like it's game over, when you speak to your mentor or when you speak to your up-line sponsor in business, nine times out of 10, they're going to say, “Oh you could do that.” And you'll go, “Ah, I never even thought of that.” Or they'll go, “Well, you could say that.” And then you’ll say, “Oh my gosh, I never thought about it that way.” And even if they're not going to give you a specific tip, just speaking to somebody, because the worst thing to do is bottle it all up, is keep it all inside of you and feel disheartened and feel demotivated and feel bad and feel upset, the worst thing to do is to keep it all in and do nothing because again that can stop you in business, that can start giving you thoughts of, “Oh, is this all worth it, maybe I'm just wasting my time, maybe I just should stick to my real job, maybe this is never going to work out for me.” Like if you've been in business for a while, you probably had those thoughts. So soon as you started feeling down, again, number two, call your sponsor or call your mentor and say, “Hey look, I had a bad day, this is what happened.” And very often your mentor might motivate you, might give you some ideas, might tell you how was their day or maybe give you an example of somebody who had challenges like you and who is now very successful. So in network marketing we always say positivity goes down, so whenever something positive happens in your life, you want to share it with your team members but when it's negative, when something is bad, then it goes up. You speak to your sponsor, to your mentor and share with them and they will be able to get you back on track, get your mindset fixed, give you a checkup from the neck up and this way you'll be back and ready to go again.
Number three is get into action. I tell you if you’re feeling down, if you’re feeling depressed, if you’re feeling whatever, all those negative feelings, the likelihood, nine times out of 10, you're probably out of action because you only have time to feel sorry for yourself, to throw yourself a pity party when you're not busy, when you not in action, because if you’re making call after call, if you're doing meeting after meeting, if you do an appointment after appointment, if your diary is full, guess what, you don't have time to be down, you don't have time to be depressed because you’re attacking your business, you’re chasing new goals, you’re doing things. So very often the most biggest episodes of negativity that you'll have and feeling down in your business is when you're not in business, is when maybe you haven't got any meetings today and you feel like your business is not progressing, so one of the best cures for negative feelings in business is to get in action, start messaging people, start doing presentations, start doing home meetings and guess what, somebody joins your business and your spirit goes back up. You’re back on track, you’re back attacking your business, you’re back building it.
And then number four, which is also I think super, super important is to practice gratitude. Again, whenever you find yourself, whenever you catch yourself feeling down or starting to doubt yourself or start thinking, is this going to work out or maybe not work out, you start doubting yourself and your business, you need to start practicing gratitude. Actually not that long ago I had one of those days where you just few things happened which wasn't very positive and I was feeling a bit down and I was at the time actually, I was at the hospital and I was sitting down and I was having a cup of coffee and I was seeing people walking by and I started seeing people who are physically disabled, who are in wheelchairs. I started seeing people who are blind walking by, I’ve started seeing people being brought from the prison by the guards for their hospital appointments and I started thinking you know what, how incredibly blessed I am. There’s so many people who would kill to be in my position, to be able to go and build the business, to be able to speak to people every single day, to be able go drive to places every single day and travel the world and meet people and build my business and expand my business. There's so many people who would kill to be in my position and here I am sitting there feeling sad for myself that, “Oh, some appointment didn't go the way I wanted. Oh, somebody didn't join while I hoped that they will join. Oh, somebody joined and they didn't do anything what I expected them to do.” And I was throwing myself the pity party, how poor I am, and how this all sucks, and then I started seeing these people who probably they'd be more than happy to trade places with me and say, “Hey man, just take my problems. I'll take your problems. I would be more than happy to be able to go build my business, to have a roof over my head, belly in my stomach and be able to go and create my dream every single day what you’re doing.” What I mean? So when you practice gratitude, it is impossible to feel sad or down and depressed at the same time as you feeling grateful when you start counting your blessings, instead of comparing yourself with somebody who earns more money, or who has a bigger team, why not go, “You know what, I appreciate that those people that I do have in my team, you know what, I appreciate the money that I do earn from the business right now. You know what, I appreciate the opportunity, the possibility to go and build my business.” In some countries, it is illegal to have your own business, they stop you, the government's prevent you, they don't allow you to have anything of your own.
I was born in Lithuania, Lithuania used to be part of Soviet Union. In Soviet Union times, you could not build your own business, people were not allowed. All you could do is work in a governments created job, that's it. You could not build your own company, you could not build your own enterprise, you could not earn as much as you want, they would put you in prison for that. Can you think of that? It wasn't that long ago. My parents, they lived that life. Whenever you feel down, or whenever you feel depressed, or whenever you feel like, “Oh, my business is so hard. It's so difficult to build a business, it's so hard to find the people who are serious.” Just snap out of it. Just start thinking of all the people who could kill to be in your position and who would give everything to be in your “bad” position, to be able to create the dream life, to be able to build your own business, to be able to speak to people every single day, to be able to use social media and things like that. Did you realise that there are countries where Facebook is not allowed? Did you realise that? So you are blessed beyond measure and you’re living in the best time that has ever been, like the medicine is at its best and everything is like the best time ever to be alive and you still complain and you still winging and you’re still unhappy.
Just forget about it, just be grateful, start counting, I'm grateful for that and I'm grateful for this and I'm grateful for that and I appreciate that and you'll see how your feelings of feeling down will disappear and you'll be back in crushing in your network marketing business. So these are my four for if you're feeling down in your network marketing business. So practice gratitude, get in action, speak to your sponsor or your mentor, and do personal development, start listening to some audios, watching some videos, reading some books and it will put you back on track, it'll put your mindset back in a place where you're going to be starting to crush it!
