3 things you should do as a LEADER!
So if you want to be a great leader for your team, obviously you want to make sure that you're doing the right thing. So today I wanted to share with you three things that you should do as a leader if you want to make sure that your business works well.
Number one, as a leader, what you should do is show example. Best thing you can do for your team is build a new one. When you are in action, when you’re doing the activity, that's when you're going to inspire your team the most, not by sending them motivational videos, not by saying, “Oh, you work hard.” Not by telling them what to do but by showing them what to do by you doing it. So whatever you want your team to do, you go and do it. You want your team to sell more, you go and sell more and show your team that you're doing it. You want your team to recruit more, you go and recruit more people and show them that you're doing it. So there's two important parts here. You need to do it, but two, you need to show your team that you're doing it. A lot of you are doing a lot of work, but you're doing it in secret, you're not showing your team, you're not advertising to your team, which is a mistake because your team then don't even know that you’re in activity. So it's important that you show by example. So that's why the best thing you can do for your team is go and build a new team because when you build a new team, when you recruiting new people, when you bring your fresh blood into the team, guess what, that will inspire and motivate your team a lot more than all of the motivational videos you could send them and all of the rahrah you could do with them, etc. So that's number one. One of the best things as a leader you can do is show your people that you’re in the trenches, show the people that you are doing, what you want them to do, show them that you are performing. So that's number one.
Number two, your job as a leader, or your role as a leader is to make things simpler, to make things simpler and easier for your team. So again, think about how can I help my team to simplify the work so that they can get better result? How can I make it better? So if you're sending a message and you do a little tweak and you start seeing that that works better, then let your team know, “Hey guys, if you just do it this way, it will work better. If you just do that, you'll get better results, etc.” And simplifying it also because the more complicated you do things, the less duplication you will have in your team, the less other people will repeat what you’re doing. So you want to make sure that you simplify, simplify, simplify, simplify as much as you can because the more complicated your systems and structures are, the more difficult it is because network marketing is a simple business in its essence, all you have to do is go, “Hey, would you take a look at my product? Hey, would you be open to take a look at my business.” That's all, that's all you have to do in network marketing. So we need to make sure that it's so simple that an eight year old could hear about your business and understand how it could be done. So always look for ways to make your business more simple for people. So that's number two.
Number three is find out, what do they want? I'm talking about your team members. So as a leader, your role is to find out what drives my team member? What do they want to achieve? What are their goals? What are their ambitions? What is their hunger because, again, the last thing you want to do is recruit somebody who only wants to use products and you go to them, “Ah, come on, you need to sell more, you need to recruit more people.” Because all that's going to do is put them off from working the business, from being in your company. So as soon as you recruit somebody, it's important that you find out, okay, so what do you want to achieve in this business? How much would you like to earn? How far would you like to go? How quickly you would like to get there and that will help you to determine what is their desire level because as you know, in network marketing, we have the 80% who desire zero to 500 pounds a month, 15% who desire two to 3000 a month and 5% who desire 25,000 pounds or more per month, very ambitious people.
So you want to determine with each person that you bring on board into the business, you want to determine by questioning them, where do they fit, where do they want to go, how hard are they prepared to work, because this way, you'll be able to work a lot better with them, you'll be able to support a lot better then, and you’ll know how to approach them, because if somebody is hungry, if they want to go all the way to the top, make big money as soon as possible, then you can work a lot more intensively with them but if somebody joins and goes, “Hey, I'll place my first order in three months time.” Awesome, you know who you have, you know it's an 80%’er and you don't push them too much because that's just going to make things worse. I hope this makes sense. So that's the three tips for being a leader.
